🕊️August 15 marks Japan’s WWII unconditional surrender.
I never lived through the war, but Japan’s recent military shifts have been on my mind.🇯🇵
A new national intelligence agency, “Japan Navy” references in international exchanges, cruise missile tests, and open debate over its decades-old nuclear policy taboos.
I don’t think history will repeat overnight, but political lines shift slowly in quiet, small steps. Those postwar guardrails were built on lessons we cannot afford to forget – and that’s why these quiet changes deserve our attention.
I’ve always called it “eijuken” (right to permanent residency) and never heard “eiju kyoka” (permission to permanently reside) till the minister said it. Is this a legal shift or a clarification?
