A class in why the familial power of monarchy endures and works. It was fascinating to see the regal dignity personal courage & admirable grace under pressure of Felipe VI King of Spain visiting the enraged heartbroken people of Valencia …while the head of government Sanchez fled ignobly. Character is all
@BBCWorld is not showing the whole picture: protests were mainly against Spanish PM & Valencia’s regional president. King Felipe & Queen Letizia engaged with protesters and comforted the victims, as can be seen in video footage shown by @CasaReal@A3Noticias but ignored by BBC.
@bbcworldservice 14.00 GMT news bulletin failed to accurately report the visit of the King of Spain to victims of the Valencia floods. @BBCWorld ignored that the protests were mainly against Spanish PM & Valencia’s regional president. The former ran away, a fact omitted by BBC.
Video footage broadcast by His Majesty’s household @CasaReal & Spain’s TV corporation @A3Noticias show the courage and statesmanship of King Felipe who engaged with protesters and victims, comforting them. So did Queen Letizia in an admirable display of humanity.
@BBCWorld didn’t show the whole picture, giving the wrong impression about the King’s serene bravery that has made many Spaniards proud. @BBCWorld prevented its viewers from understanding the huge public outcry against Spanish PM for his slowness in responding to the crisis.
