Last year, the percentage of rural hospitals in South Dakota considered vulnerable jumped from 28% to 42%, the fifth highest percentage in the nation. Rural hospitals rely on Medicaid reimbursements to keep their doors open, but Mike Rounds voted for legislation that gutted Medicaid. South Dakotans deserve leadership that fights for their health care instead of more tax breaks for corporations and billionaire donors.

The national debt has doubled since Mike Rounds has been in Washington, driven largely by legislation he voted for to give tax breaks to corporate special interests and his billionaire donor class.

But he thinks the millions of Americans who utilize Medicaid and Medicare are the problem. He’s out of touch with South Dakotans and doesn’t deserve another term.

When elected officials like Mike Rounds make a career out of politics they become part of the problem with our system. They grow beholden to special interests, addicted to power, and stop representing South Dakotans. I pledge to only serve two terms and work to put term limits in place.

P.S. - I think 70 should be the mandatory retirement age for federal elected officials.
