@FtblObserver@theta2k@BearsShowYo This is a new change for the 2025–26 Laws of the Game. Where IFAB expanded the mistaken identity provision so it now covers situations where the referee penalizes the wrong player of either team with a yellow or red card.
@theta2k@FtblObserver@BearsShowYo A yellow card in this situation is, since the referee went to var for mistaken identity, the referee can not just take away the yellow card to the original offender and not show it to the player who flopped, he MUST give it to the player who flopped. This is a new law
@FtblObserver@theta2k@BearsShowYo if a player simulates a tackle, and in doing so, fools the referee into incorrectly giving a cation to a player who “committed the foul”, the referee must take away the yellow card, and then issue one of the player who simulated. There is no if or buts
@FtblObserver@BearsShowYo Like ur actually such a dumbass, a referee can not just ignore a mandatory yellow card simply because the player is already on a yellow card, if you’re upset with this, be upset with the player for making such a horrible flop while already on a yellow card, not the ref
@FtblObserver@Omerta_033@BearsShowYo Same thing happens in the USA vs Paraguay game, whatchu talking about. I don’t want Argentina to win but this is a clear yellow card.
@theta2k@FtblObserver@BearsShowYo This is such a stupid argument, a yellow card is a yellow card, especially a mandatory one like this for simulation, you can not simply ignore a mandatory yellow card just because the player is already on one, there is no stipulation in the laws of the game that says this.
@FtblObserver@BearsShowYo Nope, I’ve played and been involved in soccer ever since I was 3 years old lmao. Im a referee, player, and I’m working for a professional soccer club rn so shut ur mouth.
