@sdowe001 It wasn’t until very recently (someone shooting a gun out of a moving vehicle and uploading to Snapchat) that I saw such a thing happen #Comodu
@sdowe001 It’s funny that you mention this. I’ve always found it absurd how so many people essentially self-report on social media (videos smoking weed, underage drinking, etc.), yet the authorities rarely act on such content #Comodu
@sdowe001 I agree! If I remember correctly, in an early module, we watched a video discussing how Facebook serves almost as a memory center for users thanks to its ability to preserve moments (history, essentially) #comodu
@athennnaa That’s so true! Even I, a music artist, have advertised on these platforms, since they allow you to really reach your target audience. I would hate for that feature to become less effective #comodu
During Mark Zuckerberg’s Congressional Hearing, the possibility of Facebook offering users the option of paying a monthy fee to prevent their information from being mined for advertising arose. What do you think? Would you pay to opt-out? #comodu
@HannahBondoSM Honestly, if it wasn’t for the various college purposes, I would no longer use Facebook. For me, Facebook died off years ago. Now the platform is just populated with older people... On the other hand, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter are where it’s at #Comodu
@sdowe001@HannahBondoSM Unfortunately, without targeted advertising, most, if not all, of our favorite social media platforms would no longer be free to use 😯 #comodu
I can’t relate. It’s not that hard to give up Facebook, especially following recent events. Thoughts? #Comodu Is any social media platform safe? https://t.co/h3a86y6b0g
Seeing a lot of glib "just don't be on Facebook" comments. I'm not on FB myself, and there's a significant cost to it. "Don't be on FB" is unhelpful, unrealistic advice for a large number of people. It's like saying "just don't have a credit card, or a car".
Using social media to challenge people’s thoughts and hopefully make people more aware of what’s going on during these troubling times #Comodu https://t.co/etcPvbs62g
Our professor’s email regarding the US Administration’s use of social media reminded me of this tweet #comodu I present to you our president; https://t.co/Q8DVFBRLC8
Crazy Joe Biden is trying to act like a tough guy. Actually, he is weak, both mentally and physically, and yet he threatens me, for the second time, with physical assault. He doesn’t know me, but he would go down fast and hard, crying all the way. Don’t threaten people Joe!
@HannahBondoSM I would be very surprised if there came a day when social graphs had an expiration date 😯 Imagine a platform like Facebook so willingly giving up all of their knowledge on each of us, their major source of income
@LorinLee2 And that, is why the only way to prevent this from reoccurring is for Facebook to do some major restructuring (diverting from building a business around selling user data), something I very much doubt they will do #Comodu
@LorinLee2 "Kogan gained access to this information in a legitimate way and through the proper channels that governed all developers on Facebook at that time. The one rule Kogan violated, according to Facebook, was passing the user data to third parties” #Comodu
Want to get scared, #comodu ? Read this thread. We’re already quite a ways into the future Silverman wrote about. We’ve essentially allowed our whole lives to be recorded https://t.co/A411iC44xQ
Want to freak yourself out? I'm gonna show just how much of your information the likes of Facebook and Google store about you without you even realising it
Some interesting confessions under #IfSocialMediaDisappeared ! Check it out #comodu and, what would you do if social media disappeared, how would your life change?
