If you have no God, then the government (or some other earthly idol) becomes your "god". It's inevitable. If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything, and you are a stereotypical example.

This is why you think "government decree" determines your rights, and why you can't recognize political oppression when you see it. You have no moral principles grounded in the transcendent.

You are EXACTLY what is wrong with this country. Canada has been hollowed out by nihilistic, materialistic, hedonistic neo-pagans that have no clue how to avoid falling into tyranny, even as they accuse "Christians" of being the authoritarians. It's sad and ironic.

And your played-out "God = Santa Clause" arguments might have impressed me as a precocious 13-year old (I'm a recovering atheist myself), but the truth is that some of the most intelligent and deepest thinkers that have ever lived have always believed in a transcendent God.
