Nigel Farage's work over the last 11 weeks broken down:
- Parliamentary votes registered (including on immigration): 0
- Violent racial divisions stoked: 1
There's not a single person in Britain who doesn't agree that the death of Henry Nowak was a tragedy, and the way the police handled it was absolutely disgraceful.
There's only one political party, however, who want to take that family's pain and politicise it for their own benefit.
@PeterWalker59@JuliaHB1 I’m a Dad, with twin sons in their 20’s. I’m appalled by what happened and agree a useful debate is needed. But Farages comments aren’t healthy or encourage debate. IMO will they will lead to more division, death & misery.
@Rayyymuund@supergran520@justdavenow89 Freedom to express views is one thing & everyone is entitled but his phrasing is deliberate he knew exactly what he was saying. As an outspoken figure who condemns black on white, but not white on black murder - he will know how some of his supporters will interpret his comment.
@Rayyymuund@justdavenow89 Farage’s comments about “two‑tier policing” and urging people to respond with “cold hard rage” may have contributed to the wider atmosphere around the case. When public figures particularly Farage use strong language, it can influence how some people react.
@Rayyymuund@justdavenow89 Wanting the footage released & the Police being held to account is one thing. Asking people not to use the death to cause division and increase tensions is something quite different.
@Rayyymuund@justdavenow89 I’m not suggesting that for one minute - full review and actions need to be taken on the Police conduct. The murderer has been jailed.
The Police officer has received death threats & Farage comments *could be interpreted as incitement to violence or vigilantism.
@JuliaHB1@Nigel_Farage Do you not agree given the fathers request Farage comments to respond with “pure, cold rage” are insensitive & *could be seen as incitement to violence? Or do you not care?
