@_The_Dali_Llama @JRUrbaneNetwork Couple of examples in Spain, the tram in Jaen opened in 2011 for a couple months but has been shut down and still closed as of 2026 due to funding. Similarly, the velez-malaga tram operated from 2006-2012 before being shut down due to low ridership.

@RM_Transit What frustrates me are the misconceptions people have over light metro. No, we can't just buy the same trains as the SkyTrain and run them on the existing LRT tracks as an upgrade in the future. No, it is not easy to automate existing LRT even though we have driverless cars.
