@Zyonight Genuinely enjoyed the world building of ARR, Heavensward absolutely hooked me and none of the other expansions let up. Stormblood's MSQ I absolutely loved even with how much I heard it "wasn't as good as the others"

As to the original question, 6 was an absolute gem for storytelling and character development.

I'd usually advise to try the early ones unless you're okay with going from 3d graphics back to 2d
