I don't think tweeting makes much difference. And I respect the bravery of those willing to go on public record and face potential censure. But there's a group of people who've built careers as champions of justice when it's convenient, are deafeningly silent now.
The cottage industry of online academic outrage, often at the most trivial of slights, would be much less annoying if when faced with genuine atrocities, some of the same people had the guts to speak up.
