🔟 years ago today I scored a penalty on the pitch at Ewood Park. A dream-come-true moment. We went on to win the game against Leeds as well.
A moment I will remember forever.

Nostalgia will cloud judgement, but no other Championship club would be excited about appointing Mowbray at this point in time unless you’re a newly promoted side.
It’s a panic button, appointment. Unless he’s got some genius signings up his sleeve, I’m worried.

@j_marsh98@GalDavies1986 He spoke very highly of them. He’s not the sort of person who would publicly burn a bridge. He knew we were his last chance at managing at the championship.
@Shaun_Tonge Literally nobody is saying we’ve had good recent signings… he had a very mixed bag of signings, he had his share of De Neve and Tavares level signings too, only difference being they weren’t from overseas clubs.
@Shaun_Tonge Two 7th place finishes too, but that’s not even the point I’m making, all I am saying is the idea of backing Mowbray when he has previously blown £12M on two bang average players doesn’t make me think he’s worth backing.
@brianken74 Gerrard would’ve been an exciting one, though I don’t think we could afford him unfortunately. Challinor seemed to tick all boxes for me. Young enough, and a proven winner.
@dannybaldy1995@roversrovers Feels a bit of a mad one, but I called it a while ago. Felt inevitable, TM wouldn’t kick up a fuss if the budget is poor, he has experience so it diverts criticism from Gestede.
To me the appointment says: “see we gave you an experienced manager and it didn’t work”.
@michaelrovers95 Agree with most of that, but I’m not 100% sure it is as risk free as we think. He isn’t inheriting a squad with David Raya, Charlie Mulgrew, Elliott Bennett, Danny Graham, Darragh Lenihan and Craig Conway waiting for him.
I’m not sure he gets the best out of this squad.
After stewing on it for a couple of days and seeing the rumour mill be set in motion, if I was to predict the next Rovers manager, I think it will be Tony Mowbray.
