Thousands of Meira Paibis in Manipir are marching for DAYS demanding NRC before Census.

WHY ISN'T PROTEST AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION & DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGE IN MANIPUR JUST AS BIG AN ISSUE FOR "RIGHTS" ECOSYSTEM?

For days now, Meira Paibis from 20+ villages have taken to the streets, linking the unrest in Manipir to illegal immigration and demanding protection of indigenous rights.

But where is the “rights” ecosystem?

They loudly protest atrocities but never open their mouths when the issue doesn't sit conveniently with their narrative.

This is because if they back the perfectly reasonable demand of the Meira Paibis the "Kagaz nahin dikhayenge" (Harsh Mandar, Prashant Bhushan, I.N.D.I.A. bloc leaders) types will not be able to oppose an NRC at the national level.

Swift Inter-Departmental Action Saves Swept-Away Elephant Family in Katarniaghat, UP

On August 25, 2026, at approximately 10:20 AM, Katarniaghat Range Headquarters received a wireless message via the Kailashpuri Barrier reporting that a herd of elephants—comprising 3 adults and 2 calves—were being swept by the strong river current towards the Girjapuri Barrage in Kaudiyala river. Current was too strong for the calves and they were flowing with it. The adults too followed them possibly to save them but even they were finding it difficult to swim.

Upon receiving this information, RO Katarniaghat immediately proceeded to the Girjapuri Barrage with a team of forest personnel. To counter the strong river flow, irrigation department was promptly contacted. Irrigation department was very swift and prompt and immediately closed the barrage gate thereby halting the rapid current. Once the current slowed down, adult elephants quickly got in control of the situation and guided the young calves to safety. Subsequently, by creating noise and commotion (hanka), the herd—which had reached the vicinity of the barrage gates—was driven back into the forest area. The herd of wild elephants has safely moved into the forest zone. Credit goes to entire Range staff for their quick thinking and prompt action and irrigation department for their prompt support.

A terrible and tragic flash flood has taken place at Gyirong in Tibet - China, and one of our Kailash groups was caught in it. While on their way back, they were at the immigration office when the flood occurred and the building and much of the town seems to have been flooded.

All of us, including the volunteers and support teams are deeply anguished and are doing our utmost to assist in the rescue. There has been no official information on the whereabouts of any of the people who were at the immigration office. We are working with the authorities to see if we can get to the location and stand ready to be part of the rescue efforts, regardless of the risk involved.

Of the 21 groups who are part of our Sojourn, 495 people have already returned safely. 743 people are currently in Tibet, 148 people are in Nepal, and 77 people were at the immigration center, and 3 volunteers in Timure, Nepal.

To the families and loved ones of those in our group and hundreds of others who are affected in the region, I share your pain and we are sparing no effort during this profoundly difficult time. I am personally in the region to ensure the best can be done in the given circumstances 🙏🏽- Sg

You wouldn’t dress for Eid the same way you dress for a nightclub. You wouldn’t dress for Christmas the same way you dress for a beach holiday. You wouldn’t wear Halloween attire to a traditional wedding.

There is a reason we dress differently for Holi, Diwali, weddings and religious festivals. Clothing, food, sweets and traditions are all shaped by the occasion.

The issue isn’t “telling women what to wear.” The issue is whether what is being promoted is appropriate for the occasion.

Wear whatever you want in your personal life or films. That’s your choice.

But when you participate in a festival rooted in tradition, showing some sensitivity toward the occasion isn’t oppression.

It’s basic cultural awareness. 😇

The BMC, registered the complaint on its MARG portal but the officer assigned - Gajanan Dhadve - never took any action as per portal. The complaint should have been either attended or forwarded to the authorities but the @mybmc engineer did nothing.
