When rest of the world has been taking drastic fuel conservation measures such as odd-even, 4 day work weeks, school and office closures and increasing fuel prices by 20-30%, India under PM @narendramodi Ji remains an oasis of energy security, availability and affordability.

Taking a further step to ease supply of commercial LPG, Government of India has decided to increase the commercial LPG allocation of states to 70%, with 20% allocation given to industries such as steel, automobile, textile and other labour intensive industries. Priority will be given to those industries where piped gas is not a substitute.

BPCL has been honoured at the International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference (IPSC), hosted by Dubai-based Blue Ocean Corp in association with ASSOCHAM. The award recognises BPCL’s innovative and forward-looking supply chain strategies, notably our strategic partnership with ADNOC for long-term LNG procurement and the preliminary agreement with Equinor for Propane and Butane sourcing.

Our efforts in energy diversification, global sourcing, and supply chain resilience were highly appreciated by the jury. It was a momentous occasion for Bharat Petroleum today as the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, laid the foundation stone for BPCL’s City Gas Distribution (CGD) project in the Alipurduar and Coochbehar districts of West Bengal.

In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that this initiative is not just about building infrastructure - it’s about empowering over 2.5 lakh households with clean, safe and affordable piped gas. With the construction of CNG stations, green fuel will now be more accessible - saving time, money and the environment.

This project, which is expected to generate over 22 lakh man-days of employment and reduce emissions equivalent to planting 50 lakh trees, will propel Eastern India toward a sustainable and energy-secure future.
