freelance is less about skills and more about relationships and trust long term
don't get me wrong, skills still matter
but the real differentiator is trust
when a prod bug takes down the client's business at 5 am, will you be waking up to fix it?
when your end term exams are tomorrow, but they found a bug in the app, are you still gonna fix it?
when the deadline is tomorrow, are you willing to stay up 20 hours to make sure its live?
i've done all.....
those are the things people remember
most of my opportunities today come from people i've worked with before, referrals, or people who've seen my work for months
they rarely hire the most skilled person they know, they hire the person they trust to get the job done
that's the real moat
I thought getting my Framer templates listed would finally start making me money.
A few months ago, getting approved on the marketplace felt like “making it.”
Now I have 2 templates listed.
Last month they made $67.76.
Not saying that to complain -
just being honest about where things actually are right now.
Because I used to think:
“once my templates are live, sales will just happen.”
But the reality is…
people can’t buy from creators they’ve never seen before.
And honestly, the market is changing fast too.
A lot of founders would rather generate an AI website with one prompt than spend hours editing a template.
Which means templates alone are probably not enough anymore.
As a new creator, you need more than good design:
• an audience
• trust
• distribution
• a real brand outside the marketplace
And I built none of that in the beginning.
I spent all my time designing templates while ignoring the actual business behind them.
So now I’m changing that.
Instead of waiting for random marketplace sales, I’m building the full ecosystem around my work.
Starting with a web design agency.
Going to share the entire process publicly:
client work, mistakes, growth, launches, everything.
Maybe this works.
Maybe it doesn’t.
But at least this time I’m building something real.
✨ Just built this Authentication / OTP interaction in Rive!
Trying to bring a bit more character and delight into those everyday product moments ✨
Rive makes it incredibly fun (and powerful) to design micro-interactions that feel alive.
Making shape animations on Rive is super easy. Made a bunch over here.
Explored what’s possible with simple shapes — no characters, no UI — just movement, rhythm, and surprise.
A whole bunch of micro-interactions and motion explorations that are clean, playful, and loop-ready.
Rohit (@Rohitkopps), who works with us as a product designer, spent some time with Figma’s new Draw feature.
It opened up a more flexible and freehand way for him within the tool.
Not just a landing page -
Will be adding smooth interactions ✨when developed in Framer. <Framer dev - WIP>
Till then, have a look at the clean design ✏️
