साहिल वखोडे के माता पिता मुंबई के आज़ाद मैदान में भूख हड़ताल पर बैठ गए है। एक माता पिता के लिए इकलौते बेटे का ऐसे चला जाना, और उसकी मौत के बाद उसका इस तरह चरित्रहनन करना, मीडिया ट्रायल करके पूरी कम्युनिटी को बदनाम करना, ऐसा मानसिक आघात करना दिखाता है, मनुवादियों से नीच प्रवत्ति किसी की नहीं है।
साहिल के साथ इंसाफ होना चाहिए, एक स्पष्ट जांच के बाद सच सबके सामने आना ही चाहिए।

आईआईटी मुंबई में इस पूरी जातिवादी घटना पर पर्दा डालने के लिए धूर्तो द्वारा परीक्षा में चीटिंग का मामला बनाया जा रहा है।
IIT बॉम्बे के द्वितीय वर्ष के छात्र साहिल वाकोडे की मौत के बाद संस्थान और परिवार के बयानों में भारी अंतर सामने आया है। जेईई ऑल इंडिया रैंक 614 और फर्स्ट ईयर में 8.5 सीजीपीए हासिल करने वाले इस मेहनती छात्र को परीक्षा में फोन इस्तेमाल करने की घटना से जोड़कर पूरा मामला सीमित करने की कोशिश की जा रही है। परिवार का आरोप है कि पिछले तीन महीनों से जातिवादी टिप्पणियाँ और धमकियाँ चल रही थीं, जबकि संस्थान कहता है कि कोई अनुशासनात्मक कार्रवाई नहीं हुई।
जातिवादी दृष्टिकोण वाले लोग बार-बार दलित छात्रों की सफलता को आरक्षण से जोड़ते हैं और उनकी किसी भी समस्या को व्यक्तिगत कमजोरी बता देते हैं। अच्छे अकादमिक रिकॉर्ड वाले छात्र की मौत पर भी चीटिंग का शोर मचाना उसी मानसिकता का हिस्सा लगता है, जो असली मुद्दों को दबाने का प्रयास करती है। कैंपस में जाति आधारित दबाव और भेदभाव के पुराने आरोपों को नजरअंदाज कर सिर्फ एक घटना पर फोकस करना कई सवाल खड़े करता है।
यह मामला केवल व्यक्तिगत त्रासदी नहीं, बल्कि उच्च शिक्षण संस्थानों में व्याप्त सामाजिक पूर्वाग्रहों की ओर इशारा करता है। पुलिस जांच जारी है, लेकिन जातिवादी सोच को चुनौती दिए बिना ऐसे मामलों की पुनरावृत्ति रुकना मुश्किल है।

The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all.

A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue.

A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310.

These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it.

The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored.

A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone.

Also NPCI - which runs UPI has ₹6,119 hard cash on its balance sheet and pre tax operating profit of ₹1,900 crores. NPCI apne cash pe and profits par zindagi bhar UPI free chala sakti hai. Government ka kuchh lena dena hi nahi hai. Government earned ₹1,000 crores tax from NPCI last year.

ये सारे नक़ली कारोबारी हत्यारे है! फाँसी जैसी सजा के ख़िलाफ़ होने के बावजूद मुझे ये लिखना पड़ रहा है।

सोचो इसने 90 हॉस्पिटल्स में ये दवाई बेची थी, उस हॉस्पिटल्स में कितने लोग इस दवाई से मर गए होंगे, क्या डॉक्टर्स भी नहीं जान पा रहे थे ??

If crimes could be ranked, this is among the worst possible. How coldly calculative and cruel one must be to do this? This is not a crime of passion or rage or whipped up hatred or even entrenched patriarchy. This is purely a crime of inhumanity.

And the amazing part is that this horrible, unimaginable crime is just a news footnote in our ‘greatest civilisation on the planet’. The systems will make sure this keeps happening because the bureaucracy-politician-capital-media nexus incentivises lack of morality.
