@JoeLayton96@BROKENBRITAIN0 The 2013 vote is irrelevant: you can't apply self-determination to an implanted British population to settle a sovereignty dispute over Argentine soil. The UN recognizes the Islas Malvinas as a colonial case that violates Argentina’s territorial integrity
@JoeLayton96@BROKENBRITAIN0 Calling 1833 a "reassertion" is revisionism. Sovereignty isn't kept by an abandoned plaque from 1774, but by the effective and settled presence Argentina had for years with a Governor, laws, and a population. It was an illegal seizure of the Islas Malvinas
@JoeLayton96@BROKENBRITAIN0 You forgot a few chapters:
1764: France actually settles the islands first.
1774: The British leave the islands voluntarily.
1774–1833: Spain and then Argentina govern the islands for 59 years straight with no British presence.
1833: Britain showed up to steal them by force.
