On 12 June at #UNHQ, the Group of Friends for Combating Technology-Facilitated Trafficking in Persons was officially launched, bringing together 25 founding members determined to confront trafficking in the digital age.
In his opening remarks, Amb. Jihoon Cha underscored that technology-facilitated trafficking lies where digital transformation meets human rights. As AI and digital tools are abused to recruit and exploit victims, our solidarity to protect human dignity must evolve just as fast.
@UNODC Executive Director Monica Juma delivered the keynote: as criminal networks grow more connected, so must our response. Technology must become a force for protection and human dignity — not a tool for exploitation.

On June 5, Ambassador Jihoon Cha, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea, met with Acting USG Zouev to discuss cooperation with @UN_OCT ahead of the 4th HLC and Counter-Terrorism Week.
