Rolf report 6 Nov: Too many notes? Never for me. Especially when I’m trying to Lick-e-Lix (yes I just made that into a verb) and keep the tempo. With help from our friend Herr Bach and his Violin Concerto No. 2. Hilary Hahn on the fiddle; Jeffrey Kahan conducting the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. For #RelaxWithRolf. Rolf x
@RolfatWarwick We dont hear Rolf sing much
It takes a special kind of song
For Rolf to let out a plaintive meow
And kind of sing along
So here's a rendition of Monster Mash
It's that time of year
Where black and ghosties rule
Who can argue with that?
Rolf report 5 Nov: You’re not going to forgive me for this but… What more fun novelty song has ever been written than the Monster Mash? A 60’s classic and I can’t help but sing along… Rolf x
Rolf report 4 Nov: On the dubious theory that one can never have enough fotos of pumpkins with a black cat…oh BTW I met more little customers than ever this year! It’s a treat to hand out treats. Rolf x
@RolfatWarwick How could anyone resist
Rolf in his Halloween costume
There had to be some treats involved
For our Rolf to consume
There's no way was he eating
Any of that pumpkin crap
Especially when there are superior treats
Like Lick-E-Lix on tap!
Rolf report 3 Nov: I wasn’t the only cat with a new Halloween costume this year. Check out London Lizzie with her pumpkin hat. It’s rather fetching I reckon but she’s seems not best pleased. (Wait - what’s that black cat doing there??) Rolf x
Rolf report 2 Nov: Someone asked yesterday whether the Halloween cat got any treats. Yes he did. And he can now confirm that raw pumpkin tastes a bit grim, actually… I’m only messing. 😊 I just had spot of Lick-e-Lix. Yum. Rolf x
Rolf report 1 Nov: Last night at Dr Claudia’s … the jack-o’-lanterns are all carved and the goodies are in a big bowl near the door. Will there be any little customers though? Rolf x
Rolf report 30 Oct: It is possible to sing along whilst snoozing during #RelaxWithRolf? I reckon yes. Especially when it’s a sumptuous tune like the Introduction & Tarantella, Op. 43 from Spanish virtuoso Pablo de Sarasate, c.1899. Supplied by the Abbey Road Ensemble, with Itzhak Perlman & Lawrence Foster. Rolf x
Rolf report 28 Oct: Continuing on from Monday… here’s the other half of the duo I met in front of WMG… they’re sisters. Lovely to meet both of you! Rolf x
Rolf report 27 Oct: From one 🐈⬛ to all the other 🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛, have a v happy National Black Cat Day today! IMHO we’re a lot more fun than many non-monochrome cats because, among other things, we get to places other cats can’t reach! Apologies to Heineken😊. Rolf x
@RolfatWarwick I know Rolf's open to wearing stuff
And Halloween is encroaching
Is that meant to be a centipede
Or is a bit of cockroaching?
Rolf's not sure about this at all
But at least he's giving it a go
Perhaps add some spooky lights
Then Rolf can certainly glow!
Rolf report 26 Oct: I was chillaxing in front of WMG the other day, watching the world go by when I ran into a new friend who also is a big fan. Hi and nice to meet you! But that’s only half the story… TBC… Rolf x
Rolf report 24 Oct. I’m sitting on the ledge just outside the Library Cafe. I often like to make a stop here before going on to the Econ Dept. But I’m still rather shocked that loads of students walk by and don’t even notice me. How many black cats on a lead with an orange safety gilet are there on campus?? Rolf x
Rolf report 23 Oct: This is I Believe: Credo 3, from Chicago legend Margaret Bonds. Like much of her work, it expresses the hopes & aspirations of African Americans during a time of strife in the middle of the last century. Would she have minded an errant British cat snacking during the performance of a lovely piece like this? I like to think not. With Lara Downes on piano. For #RelaxWithRolf. Rolf x
Rolf report 22 Oct: As they say, ‘build it and they will come’. In my case if you properly construct a cat nest - it doesn’t take much work: usually a well scrunched blanket plus some other soft surfaces - then Rolf will come. Simples. Rolf x
Rolf report 21 Oct: Meeting up with more students and staff in the Faculty of Arts Building (they don’t call it FAB for nothing). Nice to meet you! … Note the ‘claw of safety’ embedded in my human’s upper arm. Just in case. Rolf x
