[THREAD] This #WomensHistoryMonth, let's not forget how many of our rights were only won in recent decades, and weren’t given by asking nicely and waiting.
We need to fight for our rights.
Here's are a few examples:
The purpose of driving licences is to certify people who have shown they're capable of safely driving a car, and not anything else. Adult citizens aren't children, and driving licenses aren't a treat for good behaviour, or a privilege to be withheld as punishment.
when the ceasefire is officially announced, remember that the people of gaza are going to need our help, donations, and support to rebuild. the palestinians will need ur voices to be fully liberated from the occupation. remember, we said from the river to the sea.
"They tell me I am brave. It's not bravery. It's will and determination to change society."
THIS WOMAN, finding the strength to walk in to court every day and face all her rapists, is an absolute ICON.
I've never seen anything like it. Articulate, determined, dignified. ❤️
All 51 men have been convicted of raping Gisele Pelicot
She heroically fought for this while her husband & each of these rapists felt sorry for themselves
We deal with the symptoms but ignore the sexism & misogyny that causes it
Today is Gisele’s day
I don’t think anyone will ever be able to fully comprehend the extent of intergenerational trauma that is being created right now as we speak. This will be a stain on the history of humanity forever.
the idea that people who are out of work for any reason are simply “getting away with something” is so corrosive to a decent, caring society, and it’s a core motivating principle of this cruel and spiteful Labour Party.
No food has entered northern Gaza since the start of October, putting 1 million people at risk of going hungry, the World Food Programme says https://t.co/gTln577d4y
Grian Chatten of Fontaines D.C. tells NME that speaking out in support of Palestine is the responsibility of “anyone with a voice”:
“Time is ticking and people are getting beheaded and massacred and so on. It really is the responsibility of the masses, of artists, and anyone with a voice – which is most people nowadays – to do something, say something. Which side are you on?”
