I’m terribly devastated and heartbroken to announce the passing of one of the most valuable members of the tennis community, @damiankust. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable and passionate about tennis, but he was also a tremendous friend with a witty sense of humor and a kind heart.

He added so much to the community, and I learned so much from him �� from his detailed reports on players outside the top 300, to his knowledge of upcoming juniors around the world, and most of all his analysis of the unsung heroes on the Challenger Tour. He was sharp, incisive, thorough, and never sugarcoated his assessments.

I had the pleasure of working very closely with him over the past 3–4 years. I cherished our time together — whether it was hosting the @IgaCarlosTennis show, doing live commentary on the @talkingtennis22 YouTube channel, exchanging funny voice notes, teasing each other’s predictions ahead of tournaments, or simply being there for each other each day as friends.

Damian was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune condition and had been in the hospital since early October 2025. He underwent three operations, including two liver transplants. He fought incredibly hard, but his body endured more than anyone should have to. It’s devastating to lose him like this, especially at just 26 years of age.

He had many admirers and followers here, and I’m certain they would all agree that he was a rare breed of tennis enthusiast whose commitment to growing the game was truly unmatched. His dedication was inspiring.

Rest in peace, Damian.
You will be deeply missed 🙏
