Today, Kyiv is honouring the memory of those whose lives were taken by Russia’s attack yesterday, on July 6.
That night Russia killed 19 people and injured 58 others, including seven children. Flags across the city are flying at half-mast, and all entertainment events have been cancelled.
We extend our deepest condolences to everyone who lost their loved ones because of Russia’s attack. Eternal memory to all those who were killed.
The aggressor state continues to deliberately target civilians, destroy residential buildings, and terrorise Ukrainian cities every single day, every night. It must be held accountable for every attack and every life it has taken.
The first minutes after a russian strike.
People are trying to escape the site through smoke, fire and rubble.
This is how Ukrainians spend their nights because of russian terror.
This is how you can help stop it:

Thank you, dear @BudrysKestutis, for your steadfast support and leadership.
Every Russian attack reinforces the urgency of stronger decisions. The upcoming NATO Summit in Ankara must demonstrate that the Alliance's resolve is stronger than the Kremlin's aggression.
Concrete decisions to strengthen Ukraine's defence, particularly its air defence, will save lives today and reinforce the security of the entire Euro-Atlantic area for the future.
Whatever you are doing at this moment, pause for a minute to look at this photograph.
This is not history. This is Ukraine today.
After last night's Russian attack on Kyiv, I extend my deepest condolences to every family that has lost a loved one. Among the victims was this family, whose lives ended together.
This photograph is more than a record of a crime. It is evidence of what Russia continues to bring to our land and our people.
May the world never avert its eyes. May every nation see, remember, and understand exactly what and why Ukraine is fighting.
"We grabbed our cat and ran outside barefoot, in our pajamas. We fell under a car when the second explosion happened. Just 10 meters away..."
A Kyiv resident recalls how she and her husband managed to make it out after the Russian strike on an apartment building last night.
Their cat, Sima, was rescued by emergency workers. The family is now searching for their other cat.

The first video shows another victim being recovered from the rubble at the site of the russian missile strike in Kyiv.
Listen carefully to the second. That is the moment a family realizes their worst fear has come true.
🔴 BREAKING: Russian drone strikes across the Sumy and Dnipro regions have left two people dead.
Meanwhile, a separate morning attack using a Shahed drone struck a civilian logistics company in Kryvyi Rih, igniting a massive, large-scale fire at the premises.
I hope that one day, whenever people hear the word “russia,” they will think of Ukrainian families killed beneath the ruins of their homes instead of its literature, its ballet, or anything else it once convinced the world to admire.

Just four days ago, on July 2, Russia killed 31 people and injured 102 in its attack on Kyiv.
Today, Russia struck Kyiv again.
At least 11 people have been killed, around 60 injured, and residential buildings across the city have been damaged. Rescue operations are still underway.
Ukraine intercepted many drones and cruise missiles overnight. But Russia's ballistic missiles reached their targets because there are not enough interceptor missiles.
Every delay in delivering more air defence, including Patriot missiles, costs lives. The US and Europe have the means to help stop this terror.
A Ukrainian woman tries to comfort a mother who is waiting for news about her daughter who is trapped under the rubble of her apartment after this morning’s large Russian missile attacks against Kyiv.
It’s unknown whether the daughter is alive or not.
Russia has once again struck Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, just days after its previous deadly attacks. Deliberately targeting civilians does not demonstrate strength — it only deepens suffering and undermines respect for international law. 1/2
🕯️Entire family killed in Russian attack on Kyiv…
This morning, rescuers found the bodies of a son, mother, and father in the entrance of a residential building in the Podilskyi district.
🚨 BREAKING: Lack of interceptors left Ukraine unable to stop ballistic missiles during massive attack, Zelenskyy says.
"While Patriot missiles remain in allies' warehouses, it only encourages Russia to keep 'defeating' residential buildings," added Zelenskyy.
🙏 Sybiha: Protect Ukrainian children from Russian ballistic terror! No task is more urgent.
As world leaders are departing for Ankara, I wish they heard what families in Kyiv heard this night.
Putin’s message to Ankara is simple: he is going to point ballistic missiles at sleeping children and continue the murder as long as he can.
What will the leaders of the Alliance respond?
The strongest outcome of the Ankara Summit is to increase Ukraine’s capabilities to protect our children from Russian ballistic terror. We need real steps.
PAC-3 missiles were created to serve the goal of protecting people from such barbarism.
There are thousands of them in storage around the world, kept for potential threats.
But the threats in Ukraine are not potential! Russian missiles are killing people every week.
Every Russian missile launched against Ukraine carries a message far beyond our borders. It seeks to convince the world that violence can replace law, that fear is stronger than solidarity, and that brutality comes without consequence.
Following Russia's second massive missile and drone attack in just a few days, Ukraine is requesting an emergency meeting of the @UN Security Council.
Overnight, Russia killed at least 11 people — and the number may grow. The previous attack on July 2nd claimed at least 31 civilian lives in Kyiv.
We call on the DRC Presidency and the Council’s members to support Ukraine's request. Delayed or weak responses cannot stop the terror. Only strong, principled, and timely action will.
The international community must stand united to deter the aggressor and continue advancing a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in line with the UN Charter.
A mother kneels beside the body of her son, killed by a Russian missile in his own home. There are no words that can capture this grief.
While documenting the aftermath of Russia's attack on Kyiv on July 2, Ukrainian photojournalist Ivan Antypenko was invited inside by Tetiana. "You can come in and look, but my son Roma is lying there. He is dead. He isn't breathing anymore," she told him.
Russia's strike on Kyiv killed 30 civilians and injured dozens more. While the aggressor continues to wage war against human lives, the world must not look away. Russia's impunity must come to an end.
Ukraine intercepted none of the 29 ballistic missiles launched at the capital due to a critical shortage of Patriot interceptors.
"The best way to reduce russia's missile threat to Europe is to help Ukraine defend itself now."
Those words mean nothing without action.
