Tonight here in Bucha, we are holding a night of remembrance.

561 civilians were killed here over 33 days of fighting and Russian occupation. Across the entire territorial community surrounding the city, more than 1,000 people died during that time.

Hundreds were shot by Russian soldiers, and the bodies of many lay in the streets and against walls for weeks, until Russia's defeat and the return of Ukrainian forces to the city, along with the global media.

And the name of this comfortable, prosperous suburb of Kyiv among the woods became a shocking symbol of atrocity and inhumanity, images that went around the world.

This is the church in the center of Bucha, next to which a mass grave of 67 bodies was found. During the occupation, people buried their dead as best they could -- like this, in a pit beside a church.

Every day I can see that church from my home in the distance, and every time, I remember how we were present at the terrible exhumation of that enormous grave. That's something I would want to forget forever.

A memorial complex now stands on that spot.

Center of Kyiv, two Russian missiles hit a regular residential area

I am at the site of a truly horrendous Russian missile attack.

Overnight, one of the largest American investments in Ukraine – Flex – an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce was hit by Russian missiles.

This was not only an attack on Ukraine. It was an attack on American business. Two missiles struck the factory, where 600 employees were working the night shift. Thanks to strict safety protocols, every life was saved.

Russia is not only devastating Ukraine — it is destroying and humiliating American business.

The region neighbors the EU and has been considered the safest region in Ukraine. Now definitely not so.

We call on President Trump to stand with American business and to confront Vladimir Putin’s campaign of destruction.

Overnight, Russian missiles attacked one of the largest American investments in Ukraine – Flex – an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce.

Russia continues to destroy and humiliate US businesses in Ukraine, targeting companies that invest and trade on the US stock markets.

Russia is not only destroying Ukraine – it is undermining US leadership, values, and US business.

Russia is not seeking peace; it is attacking American interests and values.

We are calling on President Donald Trump to stand with American business in Ukraine. Stand with the values that built America. Show Putin that the United States protects its own.

Luckily, no employees were killed in the missile strike due to the company observing stringent safety measures.
