@UniteScotland I was proud to help carry this beauty from John Smith House to Buchanan Steps where striking staff from GSA, Heriot Watt, Napier and the UofGlasgow rallied with the mighty Strathclyde University branch to demand fair pay, fair treatment and dignity at work. ✊🏻
I have written a book ✍️ titled "Pages from a Tent in the Gaza War", and today I’m sharing with you the first day from this book.
Day One – The Night Everything Changed
It was an ordinary night in Gaza… or at least I thought so.
I was sitting with Yara, talking about tomorrow, about the children, about the house we dreamed of rebuilding. Imad was playing in the corner, and Adam was trying to take his tiny steps toward me. Suddenly, everything changed.
A deafening explosion shook the ground, followed by a series of blasts that made the walls tremble. In that moment, I thought of only one thing: holding my children close to me.
I ran to Imad, lifted Adam into my arms, while Yara tried to hide her fear behind a trembling smile. But the truth was, the sky above us had turned into fire, and the smell of gunpowder filled my breath.
That night wasn’t just the start of the bombing—it was the end of the life we once knew… the beginning of a new journey, from a warm home to a cold tent, from big dreams to simply trying to survive another day.
If my story matters to you and you want to read more, follow and share, as I will be posting a part of this book every day.
It's so nice to see actual acknowledgement of the horrific #TinkereEperiments at last.
(Not that we needed their acknowledgement to validate what happened or the effects it had on people).
What a great night of Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller music, song and tales. I got to reprise a role i haven't done in a while, comedy. There's something about making people laugh that makes me smile. Great event by @GypsyTravellerM at an amazing venue @MyICCLondon
For those who don't know the story of the Tinker Experiment this short video is a good introduction. Made some years ago but only today was an official apology made by the state in Scotland - a landmark moment!
