The world has largely moved on from Tigray. We call on the world to never forget Tigray and the suffering of other communities in #Ethiopia, to support justice & accountability mechanisms, and to ensure the full implementation of the Pretoria Agreement.
#4YearsOfTigrayGenocide
Today marks 4 years since Ethiopia’s PM Abiy Ahmed launched #TigrayGenocide. A silent genocide continues in Tigray. On this solemn occasion, we draw attention to conditions in Tigray & call for the implementation of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement & #Justice4Tigray.
A🧵👇🏾
Today is the 4th year of the start of #TigrayGenocide. Peace is illusive until justice is served to Tigrayan victims of genocide. We will never forget it.
#Ethiopia: #Tigray’s women rally against ongoing atrocities, demand end to gender violence
https://t.co/8Mvb4El1a3
Today in #Mekelle, women gathered for a large demonstration demanding an end to violence against women in the region. The protesters called for justice for victims of sexual violence, kidnappings, and other abuses.
The demonstrators marched from Romanat Sequer to the office of the Tigray Interim Administration. While they couldn't meet with President Getachew Reda, regional justice bureau head Hadush Tesfa listened to their demands.
A similar demonstration took place in #Adigrat, where Mayor Solomon Hagos supported the protesters and condemned the violence. He assured them that the city administration is working to bring criminals to justice and restore peace.
Asks⬇️
-Ensure withdrawal of non-ENDF forces from Tigray
-Facilitate safe return & reintegration of IDPs
-Provide robust humanitarian aid for affected
-Hold ethnic cleansing perpetrators accountable
Implementation of the agreement is vital for peace + stability in the region.
We join @IrobAnina, @OmnaTigray, & @TigrayAction to highlight ongoing plight of displaced Tigrayans & urge @SecBlinken/ U.S. govt. to take decisive action.
Despite the Pretoria Agreement, thousands of refugees remain in camps in Sudan, & nearly 1M still displaced within Tigray.
#Ethiopia: Under five children dying of acute malnutrition in #Tigray sharply increasing amid dire humanitarian crisis https://t.co/pvI4mzLGT8
Mengsh Bahreslassie, nutrition coordinator at the bureau, told Addis Standard that acute malnutrition of children in Tigray is sharply increasing mainly due to the ongoing suspension of humanitarian aid.
“Children, especially those who are under five, need nutritious foods such as fruits and dairy products,” Mengsh said, adding that in Tigray “children are dying from lack of such foods.”
@MercyG_kirstos reports
#Eritrean forces continue to wage devastation in #Tigray, once again interfering with vital humanitarian efforts - a lifeline to the region.
The U.S. & the int. community cannot lose focus on this issue until Eritrean troops are fully out of #Ethiopia.

The current dire state of the #Irob district, Eastern #Tigray:
1) >50% has been violently occupied by the Eritrean forces since Nov 2020.
2) The main road to the whole district has been blockaded after the signing of the #CoHA.
3) The whole district remains besieged without aid & basic services.
4) The people have been dying of mainly starvation & lack of medication.
5) The Eritrean forces continue to kill, rape, kidnap, & loot in the occupied areas.
6) The 𝗔𝗨 𝗠𝗩𝗖𝗠 team was denied entry into the district by the #Eritrean forces on 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯.
7) Several attempts by aid agencies to access the district have been blocked by the Eritrean forces.
Why is the IC not pressing the Ethiopian govt @PMEthiopia to fully implement its obligations to remove the Eritrean & Amhara forces from Tigray per the Pretoria & Nairobi agreements, seven months after the signing? What is the point of the peace agreement to this minority people if it cannot stop their complete erasure by the foreign invading genocidal forces of Eritrea?

“The November truce in northern Ethiopia has not brought about an end to the ethnic cleansing of Tigrayans in Western Tigray Zone,” said @LaetitiaBader
The COHA is not a peace deal & Tigrayans are still suffering.
Especially Tigray’s women & children.

Ethiopia Still Weaponizing Basic Services In Tigray
Despite the 2 Nov 2022 Pretoria peace deal, the Ethiopian government is still weaponizing basic services in #Tigray. Residents of Hawzien told @Tigrai_TV that the persistent power interruptions have disrupted their daily lives.
#Ethiopian Airlines faces legal case over claims it blocks #Tigrayans from travel https://t.co/Wk0FDvBVN8
A civil society organization has launched a lawsuit against Ethiopian Airlines, accusing the state-owned carrier of discriminating against ethnic Tigrayans.
The suit brought by Human Rights First, a local NGO, claims the airline is preventing “Tigrayans aged 15 to 60” from buying tickets for flights from the northern #Tigray region to #AddisAbeba, the federal capital. It also claims the company has increased ticket prices for the route as a form of “collective sanction” against the people of Tigray.
#Ethiopia: HRW says ethnic cleansing persists in Western #Tigray despite peace deal, urges federal gov’t to enforce accountability https://t.co/lfe1eePH8q
#HRW said its research found that two officials, Col. Demeke Zewdu & Belay Ayalew, who were previously implicated in abuses, continue to be involved in arbitrary detention, torture, & forced deportations of #Tigrayans, and urged for investigation of serious violations of international human rights and humanitarian law to be conducted.
IDPs across Tigray are urging parties to the Pretoria Agreement & international mediators to facilitate their prompt return to their ancestral lands.

Imagine the level of cruelty and amount of hate it takes for someone to do this to a kid👇💔
"She is Eskedar Hailu and she is 10 years old. 1 year ago 4 Eritrean soldiers raped her mother and when the girl started to scream they stabbed her and threw boiling water on her stomach."
Every single one of the people in this video has survived a genocide.
Every single one has been subjected to forced starvation and other abuses.
Every single one has been promised the right to return to their homes with safety and security.
Every single one has been betrayed.
The invading forces from the Amhara region have continued their fascistic & genocidal crimes in Korem town, #SouthernTgray.
The fascistic Ethiopian regime blessed the Amhara forces with whatever they wished to do in #Tigray.
