I don’t know why people complain so much about academia. Simply finish a PhD, apply 800 times, interview 300 times, finally know someone personally on the interview panel, and move to a country you’d never previously considered. Easy as that.

This is awesome. Many children with glasses are told they can’t play certain sports. They are not even given the opportunity to try. To see an athlete at the top of his sport proudly wearing glasses is so important. Representation matters.

Last night Coldplay invited Michael J. Fox (from Back to the Future) to perform "Fix You" at Glastonbury.

Michael had to play sitting in a wheelchair because his illness prevented him from standing.

This is beautiful and touching. Michael is a legend of the 80's cinema.
