The Curtis & Joan Smith Scholarship, named after Chad's parents, supports incoming freshmen with financial need pursuing music careers at @UMich.

First recipient: Fall 2026.

This follows our UMN partnership launched in September. Both honor his parents' legacy. 💙💛

Chad surprised @UMich's Band-O-Rama to announce the Curtis & Joan Smith Scholarship in partnership with @umichsmtd.

He then took the stage with the Michigan Marching Band to perform "Can't Stop" and the Michigan Fight Song “The Victors” at Hill Auditorium.
