I was really rooting for Intel to finally get its act together and manufacture a reasonably competitive GPUs. Even though the Xe graphics architecture was a bit entry level, it at least seemed a nominal success. When Intel got AMD's Raja Koduri as the new GFX guy - I had hopes
Well Raja's out now https://t.co/k1mK7AQ6wS Intel never seems able to spend more than a few years attempting to break into the GPU market. This is their third time and I don't have my hopes up for this one either. That and they are shutting down the Intel shuttle service ☹️
Wow - Epic is really going to revolutionize the way that MoCap data is captured/processed. See their MetaHuman/Real-Time Facial Animation Demo from their GDC presentation: This will really streamline things https://t.co/ASJLKpHT0L
Those historical, last-ditch we-are-losing weapons, full of hope and desperation, were always amazing. Always loved the Nebelwerfer. Battlefield introduced me to the Fliegerfaust. But today I learned about the Einstossflammenwerfer 46.... Holy Hell!
Apple Delays AR Glasses, Plans Cheaper Mixed-Reality Headset - yes it's challenging - but given their track record I expect them to make a good go at it.

I've watched a number of companies go off to design their own XR headsets - only to realize that it's a *really* challenging effort. There's a reason a lot of companies go for Qualcomm's XR chipset - not to mention that it comes with it's own OpenXR software stack and SDK.
It’s amazing what you can do with the right team 😊😊😊 shoutout to the @Snapdragon Spaces Technical Dev Rel & Studios teams for their support this weekend at @mitrealityhack
Thank you for the feedback Maryam!
@omershapira@TimSweeneyEpic Some of the shiniest examples of the transition from 50's style rock into hard rock came out of the YBs - especially the Beck/Page - Page years. The harbinger of an excellent decade of rock.
Say goodbye to conference rooms. We studied 100s of people in small groups over months in 192 panoramic or closed worlds. Large, open spaces improved nonverbal behavior, restorativeness and group cohesion.
In VR space is free (and beneficial).

There is a class of people who don’t think AR glasses should give you superpowers of vision and hearing because it brings up “privacy issues”. The companies that take that position are going to lose.
Interesting article on "Identifying Users by Their Hand Tracking Data in Augmented and Virtual Reality" had a small sample size but 95% accurate. Be interesting to see how this folds into other privacy concerns like eye and mouth (yes fer real) tracking https://t.co/9L2IbEvWEx
@n1ckfg So there's a bunch of AR/VR/MR HMD's coming out Oct-Feb - some are really nice headsets. Some individual AR headsets, some dedicated VR ones plus some that are MR - Qualcomm is coming out with a wireless HMD dev-kit in month or so, so that should be a trend.
A few years ago @Qualcomm decided to go all in on developing dedicated AR/VR hardware. The Oculus Quest is just the most successful of those. Just the first of many, many you'll see in the next year... here's an XR1 product

Apple won 43 Patents today covering an HMD with a Direct Retinal Projector System and Reflective Holographic Combiner & more https://t.co/ZImjhOwEbn
Disney Patents Virtual World Simulator that doesn’t require an HMD. But it seems pretty darn similar to the CAVE tech Carolina Cruz-Neira @cnntweet et. al. invented in '92. https://t.co/RyUckp9G0b

METAVERSE STRATEGY PRO-TIP
Don’t put it all in one place. It’s tempting, because visitors can be wowed by it, but the risks outweigh the benefits. Instead, put some here and there.
Subtlety wins.
