Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon. Proud member of Scoliosis Research Society, Peds Spine Foundation, Canadian Peds Ortho Group, Canadian Peds Spine Society
I am attending the 60th Annual Scoliosis Research Society Meeting, where collaboration and innovation continue to drive meaningful progress in spine care. This year, I contributed to several research studies alongside colleagues from the Setting Scoliosis Straight & Harms Study Group as well as institutions across the globe. Our work explored key questions in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), cerebral palsy, vertebral body tethering (VBT), and more.
If you have the time, I hope to see you at the following podium presentations:
🔹 Are we improving selective thoracic fusion in the tethering era?
🔹 What are the long-term outcomes of selective vs. nonselective fusion in AIS?
🔹 How can we better predict and prevent coronal malalignment in Lenke 5 patients?
🔹 Can we safely preserve fusion levels in Lenke 1/2AR curves?
🔹 What are the real-world outcomes of spinal fusion in cerebral palsy and neuromuscular scoliosis?
🔹 How does socioeconomic status impact scoliosis severity at the time of surgery?
Thank you to the @SRS_org community for fostering a space where science, compassion, and collaboration thrive.

G'day Mates! Last week, I had the distinct pleasure of representing the @SRS_org with Ashtin Neuschaefer, CAE, and Leah Skogman, CMP, on a site visit to #Sydney, Australia to prep for the 2026 Annual Meeting. Sydney offers stunning views from the harbor, a beautiful, modern convention center at the International Convention Centre Sydney, and several hotels within walking distance of Darling Harbor.
The educational value of the meeting is always superb, and Sydney will present excellent dining, social, and networking opportunities to round out the week. Join us in October 2026, and plan to spend a few days before or after the meeting to see more of #Australia!
Thanks to Drs. Brian Hsu and Andrew Cree for serving as our local hosts.
