Mayor Abdullah Hammoud welcomed the crowd: “We renew this commitment every year.”

What commitment? To “justice” — which here means Sharia. Non-Muslims submit. Women become second-class. Blasphemy laws replace free speech. The Constitution takes a backseat to a 7th-century legal code.
