.@ToledoRockets truly have nothing to lose today, both men and women. And that's a great place to be in March. Not having the favorite's tag takes off all the pressure. Two quality foes in Miami women and Akron men. To quote Chris Berman, "That's why they play the game."
Go to 20 teams, with all 10 FBS conferences getting an auto bid. Use straight seeding. Lowest eight seeds play in the first round with a re-seed to follow. That should give the top seeds an easier go in their first game, as well as one home contest.
More evidence that Rust > Rest. In 6 CFP quarterfinals so far, every team with a bye has trailed at halftime with a cumulative deficit after 30 minutes of 101-21.
No bye team has scored more than 8 points in the first half. Ohio State last night and Texas Tech today were shut out in the first half.
Good omen for Alabama and Ole Miss.
The Regional Final is set!

@DougZaleski Buford, Ga. = Carmel, Ind. There's some BIG bucks there in the northern Atlanta suburbs. They also have a 6K basketball arena.
Buford's usually in the mix come state finals time. They are a legit football power. I can only imagine how Valdosta, Lowndes, etc., will respond.
Today's good read. Fans want toughness out of the @ToledoWalleye late in the playoffs. But toughness isn't just about dropping the gloves. @DBriggsBlade weighs in. https://t.co/q8PUWGy5cp
Today's good read: @DBriggsBlade on the connection between @ToledoWalleye standout @B_Hawkins17 and the city that he has built a bond with. https://t.co/4M8ROL60B6
Toledo is a mid-major, but there's nothing mid about the women's basketball program's resources and community support.
A finance professor recently applied a value to every men's and women's basketball program if they were available on the open market. The Toledo women ($16 million) were given a higher valuation than most MAC men's programs, including Toledo ($14 million), and several women's blue bloods.
“Toledo’s leadership just continues to show up and not only say but prove that women’s basketball is a priority on this campus, in our department and in our city.” https://t.co/BAFFBufrEl
