🧵on nursing home scandal:
On April 14 2020, Berna Lee contacted my office, fearing that her mother, residing in a nursing home in my district, had been negligently exposed to COVID. Berna had been stonewalled.

The Knicks belong to New York City. And this championship belongs to the people who waited 53 years for it.
That’s why we’re giving away 600 free tickets to Thursday’s Championship Ceremony at City Hall following the ticker-tape parade.
The public lottery is open now and will close tomorrow, June 17, at 11 AM. Details at https://t.co/KsaTwaNNAh.
I'm proud to be a part of the effort to build a brand-new Museum of Korean American Heritage in Queens. I thank Assemblymember @RonTKim and Minsun Kim for their leadership in advocating for $4M in state funds and I look forward to the day we come together again to cut the ribbon.
I'm excited for the upcoming Museum of Korean American Heritage in Flushing and proud to have advocated for this grant. Thank you @rontkim for making this happen.
My kids and so many kids will get to see their history represented and celebrated! https://t.co/kemcN4vixf
Knicks fans being shut out of tonight’s game in San Antonio? Ridiculous.
More concerning, reports of ticket holders being shut out after already traveling to San Antonio.
I’m with @JamesSkoufis & @rontkim today calling on the NBA to stop this insanity.
Knicks in Five. 🟠🔵
MSG says the Knicks will donate at least 500 free tickets for NBA Finals home games to underprivileged Garden of Dreams Foundation youth. Underserved New York families affiliated with GDF will receive from the team 250 tickets per home game – totaling at least 500 tickets across Games 3 and 4 – and 750 tickets if there is a Game 6.
New York and New Jersey have subpoenaed FIFA as part of an investigation into its ticketing prices for the 2026 World Cup, citing soaring ticket prices and reports that fans were misled about seat locations.

It's official: The plaintiff States are seeking a breakup of Live Nation and Ticketmaster, and a prohibition on Live Nation's re-entry into ticketing.
Ticketmaster would be barred from enforcing existing exclusive deals, and Live Nation would divest control of its major venues.
It can help with their retirement, healthcare, childcare, home care, etc., but @JeffBezos is relying on our declining administrative capacity to argue that the public sector can no longer solve problems. Unfortunately, there is some truth to the idea that throwing more money at a broken proxy government controlled by intermediaries and contractors won't help the average working person. Case in point: every day, there is rampant fraud in adult day cares and institutionalized wage theft that allows illegal 24-hour home care in NYS. Yet the Governor and Mayor continue to look the other way. At the same time, extreme concentration of wealth and power leads to authoritarianism and fascism. So, unless we deconcentrate wealth/power while holding governors and mayors accountable, we are stuck between fast or slow deaths.
Funding childcare is a winning platform because society loves images of young people and liberals get to double down on outsourcing to non-profit contractors aka non-profit industrial complex. It's a win-win outcome.
Fixing homecare requires challenging the system from the inside-out, taking on powerul insurance companies, nonprofit contractors, and progressive friends who got the Mayor elected. But it is also an opportunity to show real administrative leadership.
Imagine if the Mayor shed the same light on fixing our broken home care system to counter the images of an ageist society that dehumanizes older people. Instead of detrimentally relying on youth-centric governance, imagine using his powerful platform to humanize the struggles of older immigrant women.
A city that doesn’t care for its children will fail.
Our City’s child care providers do enormously important and difficult work.
They deserve our utmost respect and appreciation.
This week and every week, we must stand up and support them.
Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie is MAD. "There's no deal," he tells reporters about the budget. "I said to her last night, I was comfortable with her saying to y'all, we're close. It is close. But this is what's wrong with this process... I'm never doing this again"
On fashion’s big night out, we turned the lens onto the garment, retail, warehouse, and delivery workers who make the fashion industry possible.

1. Boy, Amazon is in a heap of trouble. Evidence made public today by California AG @AGRobBonta shows blatant price fixing. And there are so many examples. Here's Amazon scheming with a pet food supplier to get Chewy to raise its prices.
