शायद वे एक लंबे उत्तर की उम्मीद करते होंगे। ऐसा, जिससे एक 50 पन्नों की थीसिस बन जाए।

पर, असल में मेरा छोटा-सा जवाब होता है - “मैं वेदांता की सफलता के लिए बस, जुटा ही रहा। दशकों तक।”

मैं भी युवा था, जब मैंने इसकी नींव रखी थी। मैंने सोचा था कि सफलता एक या दो साल में मिल जाएगी। ज़्यादा-से-ज़्यादा पांच साल लगेंगे।

मैंने वर्षों तक एक छोटे से ऑफिस से काम किया, फोन तक शेयर करता था। मैं लोकल ट्रेन से घर पहुँचता था। थका हुआ, लेकिन मन-ही-मन ख़ुश, क्योंकि मुझे भरोसा था कि मैं बड़ी लंबी पारी खेलने वाला हूँ।

आज कहना आसान है, मगर उस समय मुश्किलों से पार पाना लगभग तोड़ डालने वाला ही था … सब कुछ ही टूटता हुआ-सा लगता था।
पर, मैं नहीं टूटा।

जब मैं अपनी टीम को भुगतान नहीं कर पा रहा था ; जब मैं देख पा रहा था कि ज़्यादातर दरवाज़े बंद हो रहे हैं, तब भी, मैं रुका कहाँ।

पांच साल भूल जाइए। मैंने पहले दस बरसों में रिजल्ट्स नहीं देखे।
मगर, आख़िरकार चीज़ें आगे बढ़ने लगीं। पहले धीरे-धीरे।

फिर एक साथ।

यक़ीन मानिए, सफलता शुरुआत में अदृश्य-सी होती है।

यह समय के साथ, धीरज से बनती है।
और इसे हासिल करने तरीक़ा है - कमिटमेंट और कंसिस्टेंसी। बिना रुके, बिना थके, लगे रहना।

मैं अक्सर कहता हूँ कि मैं वेदांता का पेट्रियट हूँ।

और पेट्रियट टफ़ टाइम्स में कभी हार नहीं मानते। वे और ज़्यादा मेहनत करते हैं।

डेविड पेरेल ने अपने एक लोकप्रिय लेख में कहा है, "कंपनी खड़ी करने के लाभ केवल उन्हीं लोगों के लिए हैं जो हर दिन, हर समय उपस्थित होते हैं। ऐसे वक़्त में भी , जब उनका मन नहीं होता।”
