Maharashtra Permit Rooms and Bars to Go Bandh Against Unjust Tax Burden

The hospitality industry is raising its voice! On Monday, July 14, 2025, all permit rooms and bars across Maharashtra will observe a complete bandh to protest the unfair and steep tax hikes imposed on our industry.

🔺 VAT on liquor doubled
🔺 License fees increased by 15%
🔺 Excise duty hiked by a staggering 60%

These drastic changes threaten the survival of countless small and medium establishments, endangering thousands of jobs and livelihoods.

This protest is being organized by the Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHAR) to demand fair policies and protect the future of the hospitality sector.

We urge all industry stakeholders to unite and stand strong.
