Okay, moving back to Threads.

X seems to actually be in a quiet transitional phase. It was never going to be a social media platform. It appears to actually be a userbase pool that's being taken towards an Al-integrated finance hub where you can chat with your friends – like group chat.

It'll be interesting to see the future finance features with Al integration. I would've loved that back in 2009, when I first started trading stocks. Maybe I don't have the right clue about it, but sounds like you'll get to engage with others who trade stocks and focus on investment and exchange.

For what it's worth, l've got advice: if y'all don't improve and emphasize the customer support -- in fact, if you don't make it world-class customer service -- then it's not going to lift off. That's primarily due to trust, and then the relationship aspect.

And without world-class employees, that's not going to happen. This is going to have to be more customer service than engineering. (Grok won't be able to pull that off alone.) Just an entirely new customer support team, because what's going on right now is not going to do it (to say the least).

Trust me, I experienced the total loss of trust with X recently, in the past 3 weeks. I got the experience of wondering whether my payment info -- along with all of my other data, like device info -- was safe with X. Why? Customer service felt super shady. No amount of engineering is going to alleviate that experience.

Honestly, I was hoping that it was a soft migration of business accounts to a pay-per-post model (reach-wise). It wouldn't make sense socially; however, it'd be so much easier.

But now I don't know what to think of it. While looking up the error message from the X ads manager, I immediately ran into cases of others describing nearly the same experience as I've described in that post I linked above.

It seems like the ads service is letting scammer-like entities sell ads, but they're blocking Premium users from it. Something seems to be off.

Almost same thing happened to me. Before you try ads, read this, because you might just give your data to some company named Sift, possibly for nothing. That's their 3rd-party payment verification service, which they use for ads.

I paid for X Premium, then what little reach I had tanked. No big deal, but still the case.

Then, I tried X ads for the first time and they marked my account as violating policy (w.r.t ads, I suppose) and, therefore, ineligible for ads. This probably has made the account even worse, as their site says that, that might happen if marked as ineligible for ads. Still doesn't matter.

But they won't explain. I have no clue what could cause any of that other than using VPN, which is a standard security practice. The first thing I was told was that there was a payment issue, which couldn't have been the bank account in any shape or form. It was the same payment info I used to pay for X Premium.

A preauth of $5.00 showed up on my bank account for ~7 days then disappeared. That's never happened. Balance was good. Zero chargebacks. Zero disputes. No explanation. Ads support ghosted me for 15 days, then finally replied just to say they can't tell me anything. Now it's been 3 weeks.

What I want to know the most is whether my data is going to be mishandled by whatever/whoever is on the other side. That's concerning, because a major loss of trust occurred in this process. Feels like fraud has occurred. (I'm waiting for that TG message right now. 😆)

Alright everyone... I have this funny feeling that quite many of us have wanted this sort of... AI integrated inference environment-ish thing. It already exists, kind of. But it's just too much. Y'know what I mean? So much that it's just not it.

What we need is, like -- using the wording of the US Marines -- a Barney-style multi-chat handler. Something that's plug-n-play. One problem that it solves is manual copy-and-pasting from chat session to chat session (it can get pretty complex managing chat sessions). Another problem that it solves is the text-based procedure design. (It's a lot of work over time, especially as complexity increases. Why not just drag-and-drop to quickly reconfigure?)

While there are still some things that humans can do which AI can't do, there's significant room for optimization. Much of the tasks that people are doing with AI currently is language work, which can be done by LLMs.

(The manual copy-and-pasting is unfortunate, at this point. The user should be able to just click and direct output to any number of preconfigured destinations, as needed.)

I didn't really get on the Cursor bus, btw. (You've probably noticed at this point.) Just momentarily, then got off. I'm sure it's got some great tools by now, but I'm going in this path.

(I don't like giving up power to the tool. I think they manhandle the prompts on the backend. I always got much better results through the Claude web app than I did with Cursor for whatever reason. But moving on.)

In my world, there aren't really any "agents" (maybe just sometimes). There are "managers" and "workers." Each one has its own task. Workers can either generate new things or validate existing things. There are many things for which to manage in between, though.

But ultimately, it comes down to this: it has to be "Barney-style." In this case, visual and intuitive. Drag-and-drop. Configurable on the spot. Logs that show what's been happening. Like, why did that one manager fire 3 workers in the last 18 minutes? Y'know? Something that already makes sense a bit.

'Cause you're the producer. Is the worker's configuration not doing it? Or is its model unfit for that specific job? Gotta find another one and classify it for proper use (other than configuring it just right).

Is the system prompt not doing it for a certain type of job? Is the manager missing some sort of detail in there that might be macro-shifting predictions in the workers? It's on your hands. You're the producer – so, not the micromanager.

Open weights models have gotten good enough to enable this locally (a.k.a, offline). Just got to have decent-enough hardware (like, at least RTX 3060 12GB VRAM + i7 + 32GB RAM, which can be fair enough for smaller context windows).

Llama 3.1, Gemma 3, and a few other open weights models have opened this avenue up for cost-effective implementation. Configure them just right based on the model, itself, and for the specific job, and it's pretty good. Maybe not commercial-grade, but pretty damn good.

It can be done pretty well, especially with custom runners and open source runtimes, along with a few other things.

There's probably no one-size-fits-all solution, it seems. (Not at the common local/offline capacity, at least.)

So going open source with this. It's not my startup's product or anything. It's like an internal tool.

Data brokers are given too much credit for accuracy. Their data is actually super flaky and unreliable.

But that doesn't mean you should let them have good data, because when their customers can verify enough good data, they'll be led to believe that the bad data is good too.

I see the art form factor... Sort of a generative genre where the interactive art is dynamic and unpredictable in a way. But I just don't get the appeal or the pursuit of the genre.

How's this useful? It's so chaotic for a video game. I guess it could be a niche, though.
