A sad day but not a surprising one.
That BP, with over 60 years of drilling in the North Sea is looking to sell up, is a damning indictment of energy policy in the UK.
We need change. Now. End the ban. Lift the EPL. Get Britain Drilling.

BP's exit from the North Sea after 60 years of operations is a damning indictment of our energy policies and the hostile environment for oil & gas that has been created by the Tories, the SNP and of course Labour.
Andy Burnham has been making some positive noises about better backing of the industry.
But the time for action is now. We need urgent change.
We need to:
โขRemove the Energy Profits Levy
โขUnambiguous support for Jackdaw, Rosebank and all new projects
โขUnambiguous support for new licences & new drilling
โขAnd we need to go back to Maximum Economic Recovery (MER UK) as the guiding principle for the North Sea
BP is quitting the North Sea after the governmentโs tax raid on domestic oil and their ban on new drilling. WHY is this not major news on the BBC? This is more devastating news for Aberdeen and the North East.
@lbrewer190@reformparty_uk My friend is a vet and she told us to get our own prescriptions. Also there are 5 (?)big companies that have most of the vets. We now have 3 kittens who are 5 months old and we have picked an independent vet not associated with the large groups & they are significantly cheaper
@lbrewer190@reformparty_uk My boy thyroid & liver issues vet wanted blood every month & more meds they told us he wouldn't really last without it. That 2 yago & we stopped his meds & vet visits as along as we felt he was happy, eating, purring we were fine. He lasted 2 y & didn't die from his conditions
