@josemorgado Given the fact that the ball had bounced once and was well beyond Munar's ability nor was he even attempting to make a play on it, I think the umpire made the right decision.
@josemorgado RULE 11, BALL IN PLAY - "Unless a fault or a let is called, the ball is in play from the moment the server hits theball, and remains in play until the point is decided."
It's the umpire's discretion whether or not the point was decided. 1/2

I am thrilled to announce that world-class physician scientist and leukemia researcher Dr. Marina Konopleva @mkonople has joined us at Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center @AE_CancerCenter as the Director of the Leukemia Program, and Co-Director of our new Blood Cancer Institute !!
.@DrTonyLetai’s team at @DanaFarber has devised a strategy for “softening up” tumor cells — making them “easier targets for #NKcells."

Amazing! The blebbing and formation of apoptotic bodies are typical features of apoptosis. Pyroptosis or ferroptosis usually involve loss of plasma membrane integrity at the beginning and thus leading to "ballooning" of the cells, Which is not seen here. It is not "lysis" neither
Small but mighty! This is a video of a killer T cell of the immune system destroying a monstrous ovarian cancer cell. I recently captured this data on a spinning disc confocal microscope.

Great work here by @RongqingP . Pick the right BH3 mimetic by BH3 profiling and it helps immune therapies kill cancer cells better. I think this will be a more general lesson than for just NK cell based therapies.
@Dr_Nick_Bikes@DrTonyLetai@CellCellPress Pre-activated NK cells acquired high resistance to selective BCL-2, BCL-XL, and MCL-1 inhibitors (ABT-199, A-1331852, S63845). I did not test ABT-737, However, They are sensitive to the combo of ABT-199 and A-1331852. I would not be surprised if they are also sensitive to ABT-737
@Dr_Nick_Bikes@DrTonyLetai@CellCellPress We also found that resting primary NK cells are very sensitive to ABT-199. After pre-activation with IL-2, they markedly up-regulated both pro- and anti-apoptotic proteins. They become less primed as examined by BH3 profiling and quite resistant to selective BH3 mimetics.
AddThis | Home https://t.co/CJzfoseGnQ Check out our new paper @CellCellPress Mitochondria play an essential for efficient NK killing of cancer cells, especially at E:T Ratio less than 1:1. NK attacks is often sublethal and push cancer cells towards apoptotic threshold. 1/3
Cytotoxic cells like NK cells or CD8+ T cells are almost always outnumbered by tumor cells in tumor stroma. Therefore, in vitro studies using low E:T ratios, other than 10:1, 20:1, are more physiologically relevant.
BH3 profiling of cancer cells identifies their dependence on which anti-apoptotic proteins for survival and identifies which BH3 mimetic augments NK killing of corresponding cancer cells.
