If his days as a member of the Dallas Stars is over, Jamie Benn is likely going to take a pay cut to chase a Stanley Cup.
One team that makes a lot of sense? The Colorado Avalanche.
Benn steps in as a 4C on a 1x1 - chases the cup that’s alluded him his whole career.
this is mostly clean. Bouchard skating w his head over his feet and watching his pass. Don’t want to see anyone hurt but it’s hockey - can’t put yourself in that position to get blown up
@ABarrafato50@A1phaDog he’s doing something worse in admiring your pass lol. of course his intent was to blow him up… it’s hockey brother, that’s a part of it😂 every big hit is intent to injury is what you’re saying?😂
@schafer_von his feet lift after he makes contact - which is common in 99% of bigger hits, there’s 50% contact w the head and 50% w the body. head contact is an issue. i’m not simping for anything you dumb fuck😂
@Craiger1985 i mis-worded that, you are correct. i meant exploding through the head after you make body contact is fine. it’s when the head is the principle point. i never said this was fully clean, it’s just not that egregious
@ABarrafato50 i 50/50 agree. i think it definitely needs to be called, especially in IIHF, but i don’t think there’s actual intent to injure kinda thing. but a KO always looks no bueno
@ABarrafato50 i mean i can kinda understand that but that happens in a lot of hits like this - i LOOKS bad but it’s mostly, shoulder hits and then you explode w your arms - but optically, it looks like the arm hits head
@Craiger1985 intent to injury just bc he loads himself up, not intent to injury just bc he’s vulnerable, it’s not intent to injury bc he blew him up. there’s no intent to injury - there’s intent to deliver a big hit, contact sports have consequences when you out yourself in vulnerable spots.
@Craiger1985 that’s how you’re taught to hit… him being in a crouched position, exploding after contact is textbook. leaving your feet happens naturally with most hits. he could’ve stayed crouched and played it softer but it’s hockey lmfao he made head contact, that’s the issue but it’s not
@Craiger1985 if that were the case, everyone would just put themselves in the worst vulnerable positions possible knowing they then become untouchable. your argument isn’t valid lol in any sport, you hit and close through and you hit vulnerable and that alone is not dirty.
@BmuthaSupreme definite head contact but i don’t think it’s the PRINCIPLE point of contact - but he does make head contact. IIHF, it’s a major - NHL it shouldn’t be.
@Craiger1985 he also didn’t purposely injure him here. as a D man, someone coming into the zone w their head down/back is when you’re taught, drive your shoulder into their chest and up. that’s hockey. change your diaper my guy
@Craiger1985 no lol. it’s a contact sport, you look for vulnerability - shoulder to chest/shoulder when you can light someone up is what you’re looking for, especially when they are admiring their pass. Bouch committed two of the worst possible things you can do if you DONT want to get hit.
@Craiger1985 right and wrong. you can’t turn your back last minute for example. At some point, players need to be responsible for putting yourself in better spots. it’s everyone’s responsibility to play clean but it’s not the hitters responsibility to avoid a hit just bc you’re vulnerable
