The Council today paid a courtesy call to the CECM Agriculture Makueni County, Hon. Joyce Mutua to discuss the Warehouse Receipt System. During the meeting, several issues were addressed, such as identifying areas of collaboration.
#WRSinKenya will allow farmers in Uasin Gishu to store Agri produce with county-licensed warehouses in exchange for a #warehousereceipt which they can trade or use as security to access bank loans and credit for farm inputs. It’s a game changer!

@NLinKenya is proud to be funding @IFCAfrica’s work with @WRSCKenya to operationalise the WRS. @kenyaafex in UG is the 1️⃣st privately operated warehouse to be certified. Farmers can store their harvest & use the receipt to access credit while they wait for the price to increase📈
They toured our facility and discussed the benefits of the WRS for AFEX Fair Trade Kenya & the Kenyan economy.
