@AVFCOfficial I suddenly feel over forty years younger ! UTV

@AVFCOfficial Earned the hard way, but to dig in deep after our heroics in Europe was absolutely magnificent. Disasi inspired our other defenders and Olsen into retaining our lead and keeping a clean sheet. Good away result. UTV

@AVFCOfficial In the eight games following Champions League matches this Season, Villa have only won once. ( W1, D3, L4. ) Six points out of a possible 24 ... just turning the draws into wins would have equated to a top four current placing. Our January transfer deals need to pay off now. UTV

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Looked like it was going do be a draw at best at one point, so it was a welcome and important win in the end. There is some good talent in their team, but the Villa are well set now to advance.

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Dare we dream of lifting a trophy in our 150th Anniversary celebration year ? As Ron Saunders would say ... Do you want to bet against us ? UTV

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial I could understand Unai wanting to protect our vulnerable defence against the likes of Sarr and Mateta with an extra player at the back, but our play was too often loose. It is a cliche, but from the very start last night perhaps the best form of defence was attack.

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial The Villa more than made up for a sluggish start to the game and looked the stronger team as the second half unfolded. Great to see our substitutes impacting the result with maximum commitment. UTV

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial The Villa were a real threat going forward throughout the game and deserved at least the point. Liverpool were gifted their first goal and the second was a deflection off Mings with the shot otherwise heading towards Martinez. Villa created good chances to win it. A good showing.

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Rather than hurt them, the sending off seemed to give Ipswich more defensive resolve and a willing and determined lone forward in Delap. Villa were unimpressive in the first half, but decent in the second and but for a lack of clinical finishing and a great save should have won.

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Except for injury concerns, all smiles from most Villans I would have thought. - Our new recruits are looking good acquisitions straight away and the majority of our players are finding great form at a critical time. UTV

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial An honest admission from Ezri that the Villa weren't at the races yesterday, but without Mings or Pau and Cash, we were always up against it. 69% away possession and 88% pass accuracy end of match stats and a harshly disallowed goal point to us deserving a better result. UTV

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial A great game of football, a great result for the Villa and a magnificent top 8 finish in the Champions League of 36.

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Prepared for a Villa thriller, can't wait, this should be a great game. Good luck tonight !

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial The Villa showed well early on and deserved to go ahead, but West Ham succeeded in then stopping any momentum. Losing Mings and a catalogue of poor referee decisions then served to end our hopes of three points. The Hammers earned a draw with 55% possession and chances created.

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Emi Buendia made the most of his start but nobody else did. We gave the ball away needlessly and repeatedly. You wouldn't think we have a set piece coach tonight with our corners just being sent in high and into the hands of their goalkeeper. Very disappointing, but we fight on.

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Tyrone Mings ... a natural leader, an articulate orator, a Villa baller !

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial A thing of beauty ! ... and all ten outfield players in the celebration !! VTID

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Good away point. Played some decent football despite going behind. Our goals were both well worked and taken. UTV

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Great bit of January business in my opinion. Hope he features in a successful second half of the Season. UTV

[Keith Rooms @RoomsKeith]

@AVFCOfficial Well done to the Villa ! With all the hype surrounding this game, it was always going to be a night filled with emotion and huge pressure to achieve the all important win.
