Effect v4 is here.
One ecosystem. Zero dependencies.
The next chapter of Effect and the foundation for building reliable software and AI agents in TypeScript.
I couldn't resist the @typesafeai / @EffectTS_ hype.
Here's a demo repo using Effect's Jev support to match vulnerability descriptions to CWEs!

Laya is an open-weight decision model like Jev. Its authors, ConvAI, published a related paper over a year ago.
Elixir's Nx was built for running models with native acceleration.
I combined these so anyone can run a decision model within an Elixir app!

@tim_smart@EffectTS_ Really exciting! Is there a reason criteria is required for Decision.probability when it is optional for the underlying providers?
Reviewing AI-written system design docs is hard.
To help get my bearings, I use a simple prompt: “Provide a C4 model analysis of the described system”
It turns out that the same techniques that make human-designed systems understandable apply to LLMs!
TypeScript can be surprisingly robust with @EffectTS_.
The latest Code and Stuff video walks through some of the parts I like: retries, structured concurrency, error handling, and dependency injection.
All with great type safety!

We’ve just released LiveStash v1.0.0 for Phoenix LiveView! 🎉
What’s new?
⚡ Mnesia adapter with cluster state replication and split-brain auto-heal
🔒 Explicit security configuration for browser memory storage
🛡️ Stability & performance improvements (more on that in 🧵)
I need to get something off my chest: I’ve recently gotten into @EffectTS_.
I’m not leaving Elixir (not by a long shot) but Effect has made TypeScript palatable in a way I didn’t expect.
Who would be interested in some Effect videos? What do you want to know?
I’ve been using @luckymarmot Paw since the paid license days. Since then, it’s changed hands to RapidAPI and more recently Nokia.
It’s a bummer that they’ve stopped updating it. Without PKCE / MCP support, I’ve been using it less and less.
Is there a good Mac-native successor?
Learn how to add OAuth, MCP, and a Lua-based code mode to any @AshFramework application in the latest Code and Stuff video!

It's been a while, but I'll be combining a few new Ash packages to build a code mode MCP server with OAuth support in the next Code and Stuff video, coming soon!
The way auth and policies flow into a new protocol is what has me so excited about the core abstractions of Ash!
Elixir v1.20 released! Now officially a gradually typed language: Elixir type checks every single line of code, finding bugs and dead code, without developer overhead (no typing signatures) and extremely low false positives rate. Plus a faster compiler! Links and reports below.
