@ChuSoPranoBCF@mrstartups I'm saying that we used to go there to provide services to locals. Now we go there to receive only. No one is going to work to Spain anymore like 20 years ago. That's the change I'm talking about.
@Lord_Argentum@mrstartups Damn, I guess we will have to rebuild ourselves again afterwards. Doesn't matter, we've done it twice, we will do it three four or five times, if needed.
@molona_macarena@mrstartups I don't prefer anything. I'm answering your question. Lithuania has very strict immigration policies and even those are are considered way too liberal by vast majority of population.
Look guys, I haven't expressed myself in the best manner and I'm sorry if I offended anyone. What I tried to say is that many Spanish people are working in tourism and also providing general services to expats. Since we stopped being cheap labourers a d became tourists or expats (immigrants who don't work there), the roles changed and instead of us providing labour to Spanish people, we are on the receiving end.
It was meant to highlight the HUGE change within such a short time and not to offend or belittle anyone.
So I'm sorry and I hope Spain will learn from other countries, get rid of their socialist mindset and policies, and grow as it should. We all benefit from stronger Europe.
@mrstartups Proud of my country - Lithuania π±πΉ True success story. 20 years ago our people were going to Spain to do their agriculture jobs. Now we're going there to chill and buy villas while Spanish work for us. Massive change within my lifetime.
@TiniakosX@mrstartups I'm sure you're speaking from experience. I remember the times when Greece wasn't a third world country yet. Oh those were the times...
@LordofCinder24 And the worst thing is that these women let their daughters dress like this in public and then shame men for lusting. Lady, you should be shamed for letting your daughter out looking like this!
@LordofCinder24 I don't know when did a word "pedophile" lose its actual meaning (attraction to PREPUBESCENT kids), but I hate it when I see people calling men pedophiles for being attracted to THAT.
@ChuSoPranoBCF@mrstartups Lithuanians are buying properties moving to live in Spain for few months a year or for good. They don't work there. So who does all the services in Spain? Who packs their groceries, who fixes their cars, and so on?
@MurrayHillGuy1 No issue. Maaaaaybe I would advise against that for my daughter because I don't want her to waste her youth being in relationships that won't lead to marriage, but as for a stranger I don't care. It's her life and she can make her own decisions.
And damn we work a lot. In Spain even shops have 2-3 hrs lunch breaks where they close the whole thing π€― can't imagine that in Lithuania. If we need to answer an email past our official working hours - we answer that email. If we need to take laptop with us to holiday because we have very important projects going on - we take laptop with us. It's not healthy ofc but it explains why we got where we got.
@molona_macarena@mrstartups Our people are very against immigration and politicians strictly limit that. We don't want Lithuania to become Spain you know.
