He put together an AI rack with 8 graphics cards that runs Hermes Agent and completely replaced expensive cloud computing.

Instead of paying almost $5,000 per month for a GPU in the cloud, he invested in his own infrastructure.

Why does this make sense?

- the equipment works 24/7 without hourly payment;
- all data remains local;
- you can run large AI models without provider restrictions;
- after payback, every subsequent month is a significant savings.

If such a system cost about $20-30 thousand, then by saving $4,800 per month, it can potentially pay for itself in less than a year, excluding electricity and maintenance.

It seems that more and more companies are moving from renting GPUs in the cloud to their own AI servers. And if the load is constant, such a strategy often turns out to be more financially profitable.

The cloud is convenient for starting. But when AI becomes part of the business, the hardware itself often wins in terms of economy.
