Where I live that's still the case, so in real life absolutely nothing would change for me. But when it comes to the online world.. normies ruined all my favorite things.. anime became breeding grounds for pornstars and simps. Games became lame so did tv series.. everything is political now. Back when people were shunned for having niche nerdy hobbies, they were much better because they had to be enjoyed often in secret therefore weren't made for the average soulless consumer but for a fanatic. It's basically why people want to gatekeep their hobbies but always fail at doing so. Popularization leads to ruin.
