Cycling makes sense. Galway needs to pull up its socks and get serious about it

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@Gragamal @VirgelTibbs @kleyden7 Perhaps this should be on the road instead to slow down drivers?

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@eamokeane True, I am reading Infinity Gate by @michaelcarey191 where one of the main characters Topaz comes from a planet where they all have personal AI's which are used to integrate with society.

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@eamokeane @talktoBOI I'd imagine it should be instant these days

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@edanto @Galwaybayfmnews @EibhVote I imagine the older man was a local. I can help you with the near "miss report".

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@edanto @Galwaybayfmnews @EibhVote I saw an old man fall into this one evening last month. An old neighbour of mine helped him out while I directed traffic around them.

Fireworks which flew over the new foot bridge from Newtownsmith landed at the feet of tourists who were waiting for their bus outside the cathedral. They were shuck but ok. Could have been worse. Guards were notified. It flew right in front of me.

@NGKids @LorcanaDad Thanks for the update - we love it in our house. My son was convinced it was coming out today - little did he realise October has more than 1 date.

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@OisinONidh 100% a missed opportunity

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

Busy road this morning. Busier than usual for some reason. Hopefully this isn't a new norm. #GalwayTraffic

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@OisinONidh yea this road is still closed

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@LiamOGrady2 I agree. When I'm with the kids I do that route. They are nearly finished with the road works

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@kevigi yea I had heard it wasn't suitable for everyone. Surprising given how new it is and what its meant to do.

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@kevigi Would I be right in saying that the bus is electric?

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@kevigi @OisinONidh It's very cool. We pass it daily on our commute to school. It was a lovely surprise.

GOING UP AS CHAMPIONS 🏆⬆️

#ItsATribalThing

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

Build it and they will come. I am delighted to see all the cyclists at Scoil Fhursa using the sheltered bike rack.

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

#slowdownday - it would be nice also if drivers could stop at red lights as per @Barnacles09 article in the tribune. As a parent of 2 kids near this junction I tell them to avoid it. @GardaTraffic take note!

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

Safety advocates demand action to halt red light breakers in Galway https://t.co/A8PydQgshT

[Rory C @RoryCarrollIRL]

@rtenews Some drivers in Galway can't slow down enough - even a red light doesn't stop them. When bringing the kids to school its difficult to tell if drivers will stop at the Quincentenary junction in Newcastle.
