South Africa became MORE unequal after 30+ years of ANC governance, despite inheriting:
Africa’s most advanced economy
Massive mineral wealth
Sophisticated banking systems
Industrial capacity
Global trade access
World class tourism potential

So thank you for confirming that leadership, policy, corruption, education failure, collapsing infrastructure, unemployment and state dysfunction matter enormously to outcomes.

You cannot simultaneously argue:

Governance and policy don’t matter
AND
South Africa became the most unequal country on Earth under current governance

That contradiction is the entire issue.
The problem with debating with ideologues like yourself is they are too stupid to hear reason. They hold onto their belief regardless. 😂😂 Broke in mentality, broke in reality, broke in ideologies.

Apartheid absolutely created massive structural inequality. Nobody serious denies that.

But if South Africa is NOW the most unequal country on Earth after 30+ years of ANC rule, then current governance, corruption, education failure, collapsing infrastructure, unemployment and economic policy clearly matter enormously too.
You cannot blame:
• Eskom collapse
• Transnet collapse
• sewage infrastructure failure
• cadre deployment
• state capture
• corruption
• investor flight
• 40%+ unemployment
• collapsing municipalities
• poor education outcomes
entirely on a system that ended over three decades ago while simultaneously arguing current policy outcomes are irrelevant.
That is ideology, not analysis.
History matters.
Current governance matters too.
in the end I am arguing with a very low IQ, the fact that you hold to your belief without fact.

Poor people exist in literally every country on Earth. That is not the argument and never was.

The argument is whether governance, policy, institutions, corruption control, education, infrastructure and economic strategy materially affect national outcomes over time.

If apartheid alone permanently determines destiny, then explain:
Singapore
South Korea
Taiwan
Estonia
Poland
Rwanda
UAE

Countries with war, colonisation, dictatorship, poverty, occupation, resource scarcity or devastation that still dramatically transformed themselves within a few decades through competent leadership and economic development.

History matters. Absolutely.

But eventually current leadership, policy choices and institutional competence matter too.

Otherwise no country in history would ever recover from historical injustice, conflict or poverty. So get off your naive self righteous guilt trumpet and sit down. The adults are speaking

Nobody claimed Singapore is a utopia. Every country has inequality, cost of living pressure and struggling lower-income groups.

The point is that Singapore transformed itself within a generation into:
• One of the safest countries on Earth
• One of the least corrupt
• One of the richest per capita
• A global financial and business hub
• A world leader in infrastructure, ports, logistics and education
• A magnet for investment, banks and multinational companies

It did this with no natural resources.

South Africa has immense natural wealth, strategic trade positioning, advanced finance, agriculture, mining and tourism potential yet has suffered decades of stagnation, corruption, collapsing infrastructure and policy failure.

You keep changing the subject from governance and outcomes to “but poor people still exist.”

Poor people existing does not invalidate successful national development.

The real question is:
Why did one country dramatically improve living standards, state capacity and economic competitiveness in 35 years, while another regressed despite vastly greater natural advantages?

😂 I have been there many times. If functional and world class is shit, then you have problems 😂Seems you have a perception problem and a victim mentality.

Singapore went from a resource poor island with slums, racial tension, unemployment and no natural resources to one of the richest, safest and most functional countries on Earth within roughly 35 years.

In that same timeframe Singapore:
• Built one of the strongest currencies globally
• Became a top 5 global financial hub
• Attracted the world’s biggest banks and multinationals
• Built world-class ports, airports and infrastructure
• Created one of the least corrupt governments on Earth
• Achieved first world education outcomes
• Built sovereign wealth funds managing hundreds of billions
• Became a global centre for trade, logistics, biotech and tech
• Achieved one of the highest home ownership rates globally

Meanwhile South Africa had:
• Some of the world’s deepest mineral wealth
• Advanced infrastructure
• A functioning industrial economy
• Global trade access
• Massive tourism potential
• Agricultural strength
• Financial sophistication

You cannot blame a 2026 electricity crisis, collapsing rail, collapsing ports, sewage in rivers, corruption, cadre deployment, failed SOEs, crime, investor flight and stagnant growth entirely on apartheid forever.

Historical injustice matters. Current governance matters too.

Pretending leadership and policy outcomes are irrelevant is intellectually dishonest. In the end SA is a failed state without the private sector. Unless backwards policy or the ANC changes it will it will get worse. Period. 😑
