He was deported to #Auschwitz from #Westerbork and registered in the camp. He perished there on 22 September 1942.
10 November 1892 | Italian Jew, Mario De Benedetti, was born in Mantua.
He was deported to #Auschwitz from Fossoli camp on 5 April 1944.
After the arrival selection, he was registered in the camp.
He perished in Mauthausen camp on 7 April 1945.
10 November 1929 | A Czech Jewish woman, Helga Hošková-Weissová, was born in Prague.
Deported from #Theresienstadt ghetto to #Auschwitz in Oct 1944. Her father was murdered in a gas chamber. Helga & her mother were moved to Freiberg & liberated in Mauthausen.
Today she turns 95. Happy birthday!

15 October 1943 | A transport of 74 Jews deported from Berlin arrived at #Auschwitz. 36 people were murdered in a gas chamber after selection. Most of the people in the transport were German Jews - men and women - deported from Otto Weidt workshop in Berlin.
Otto Weidt (b. 1883 - in the picture) was the owner of a workshop for the blind and deaf. During the Holocaust, he fought to protect his Jewish workers against deportation.
A group of blind and deaf Jews was employed at his shop between the years of 1941 and 1943. When the Gestapo began to arrest and deport his Jewish employees, he fought to secure their safety by falsifying documents, bribing officers and hiding them in the back of his shop. Though Weidt, forewarned, kept his shop closed on the day of the Fabrikaktion in February 1943, many of his employees were deported.
After the war, Otto Weidt established an orphanage for survivors of the concentration camps. He died of heart failure in 1947. On September 7, 1971, Yad Vashem recognized Weidt as a Righteous Among the Nations.

She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Westerbork in July 1942. She was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection.
15 October 1925 | A Polish woman, Genowefa Lachor, was born in Rosochowalec.
