Bill: It was a great show Tub, boy I've never heard such laughs from an audience before
Tony: No show on the air gets bigger laughs than we got. Genuine laughter tonight, no prompting, genuine honest to goodness laughter
Bill: Yeah, well put your trousers on, let's go home!
I just popped over the road to get some more eggs and I saw that my friend had put a huge water bowl out the front for wildlife…
so I’m going to do the same tonight…
Can I ask all of you to put a saucer or a large plant pot saucer or shallow bowl of water out for any animals that need it tonight, please?… ♥️♥️
Good evening my Twits ..
Well …what a day I have had,
My visit to the newly refurbished Ickworth Hotel was a complete joy
The building was always stunning, but the inside was very tired shall we say..
Not now ..
it is fantastic. It’s amazing.
It’s stunning.
It’s out of this world.
It’s slightly contemporary but keeping the old-fashioned stately home feel , which is super
My old Head Chef Joseph gave me a personal guided tour of absolutely everything,
including the new swimming pool and SPA block, which is absolutely out of this world
The menus are fantastic. My old little pastry kitchen is now walking in fridge…🤭
And the new kitchens are completely state of the art…
If you ever get a chance to go to the Ickworth in Suffolk, please do..
Lt Cdr Chris Gayson, Lt Lily-Mae Fisher and PO Owen Green, lost in a tragic helicopter training exercise on 3 June have now all been laid to rest in the Royal Naval Cemetery, Yeovilton
Our thoughts remain with their families and friends.
RIP and thank you for your service
To compliment the beautiful Autochrome I shared ealier today, I thought I'd dust down this old favourite by Jules Gervais-Courtellemont, photographed in the Syrian capital of Damascus 101 years ago. It depicts an Arabian Emir holding his Jambiya amidst swathes of colourful fabrics. It's quite a shot, taken useing an early colour glass-plate process in 1925. It is not colourised..
Let me transport you back 116 years with this stunning Autochrome from 1910. I have cleaned-up this exquisite study of a woman clad in silks and velvets, posed against a backdrop of geometric kilim textiles, creating an enveloping riot of colour & texture & fabrics, which really draws us into every detail. The photographer's identity has not been recorded, though it is perhaps reminiscent of some of Gervais-Courtellemont's Syrian Autochromes. It was taken using an early colour glass-plate process and isn't colourised.
September 1918: This is an old favourite Autochrome enhancement of mine - which blurs the line between an Orthodox Christian monk and an unorthodox Christian Bale. This is Father Arthemios of the Hilandar monastery, on Mount Athos in Greece, photographed in his religious finery 108 years ago by the visiting French photographer Fernand Cuville. It was taken using an early colour glass-plate process and isn't colourised.
🐶 Frank ♥️ still needs a fireworks foster - or a foster or a forever pawparent 🙏🏽🏡 Please someone give him a safe space this 4th of July weekend 🎇 250 celebration! 😢 He’s such a good boy. Frank is waiting for his hero in Rosenberg, Texas (Fort Bend) 🇺🇸
GO ROSE GO ….
Hungry husband just sent me this video,
He took his 92-year-old mother out in his motorcycle and side car
And she bloody loved it
And afterwards, she said to him you could’ve gone faster you know I would’ve liked that..
Hells granny right there …
Isn’t she bloody marvellous?…..
