Yesterday the government announced that the first phase of Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self Assessment will not be mandated until April 2026.

Self-employed individuals and landlords with an income of more than £50,000 will now have an additional two years to prepare.

Self-employed people and landlords earning above £10,000 will need to submit Quarterly Updates, one End of Period Statement & a Final Declaration each tax year. Due to this you will need to use MTD-compatible software for record-keeping and to send updates to HMRC from April 2024
