I am certainly not one for airing things in public like this and I am utterly embarrassed but I am DESPERATE!!

@metpoliceuk Please hang your heads in shame. I’m trying to make a report to you to send to Spanish police as advised by the British Consulate @FCDOGovUK (multiple times) to do and you have rejected me at every single channel (in person, telephone, online). My dad (UK national) is currently being cuckooed and financially abused in his residence in Spain and has been hospitalised to near death by these monsters. Your operator told me on the phone yesterday (CAD 5189) that because he’s in hospital he is not in immediate danger so therefore an interpol report cannot be taken. There are unknown dangerous men living in his house and they’ve stolen his bank cards, spent thousands and are controlling his finances, have access to the only house key he has, smashed his phone up so he has no means of contact. Does that sound safe to you?!

I am banging my head against a wall trying to get this reported to save my dad’s life and get these men apprehended so my dad is safe! You keep sending me to a non-urgent crimes Spanish website which does not accept the type of serious crimes I’m trying to report. Does this matter not sound urgent to you? The Spanish police no longer take crime reports over the phone for English nationals and I’m currently in London. I’m not an idiot and I know how these things work having been a Constable previously for 8 years!

If anyone can please retweet this to get the Met Police to take me seriously and stop treating me like a nuisance.

When I joined the Police I thought the only reason I would be off work would be because I was unwell or injured. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I never contemplated that being unwell would be because of my mental health. 👀

About now, three years ago, I’d had a year or continuous traumatic incidents and it broke me. I burnt out at the same time as being diagnosed with PTSD. 😅

The hardest bit? I finally said yes to help and counselling. I finally said yes to taking time off and looking after myself. This job will push you all the way if you let it. But you don’t have to. 🫡

We make time for the most vulnerable at work, so make time for yourself too please. Check in with your mates. Listen to them, really listen. And remember, however fun it might seem, you are just a number in a very big system at work, and if you leave, you’ll be replaced the next day. 🤦🏼‍♂️

But at home, away from work, you are you and importantly, there’ll be other days and other ways, but they’ll never be another you. 👏

Look after you, please. 🩵
