@MorningLiveSABC@SakinaKamwendo@LeanneManas It seems our South African men suffer with an overdose of testosterone & have no self control. I guess Sibiya is no different!
Honest people in government are too scared to speak out about corruption. They fear that, like Babita Deokaran and Mpho Mafole, they will be next.
The DA will protect whistleblowers and those who enable corruption will face consequences!

@MorningLiveSABC@LeanneManas@SakinaKamwendo I don't think he had any option. Madlanga Commission has opened the electorates eyes to how much malfeasance has been happening over the past 32 years. All rotten to the core! Better than any soapie!
@Danny20687032@Jarrod_Delport Such nonsense! She will proffesionalize the Municipality & save rate payer's taxes. If you are not a rate payer you will not understand.
@thabosrmalema@Jarrod_Delport You are embarrassing yourself. Helen was raised in Johannesburg. If you had followed her since January this year you would know her history!
South Africa could do the following things overnight that would dramatically improve business conditions:
1) Delete exchange controls.
2) Delete capital gains tax.
3) Take VAT from 15% to 14%.
4) End the parts of BEE that are effectively a 30% tax on capital on arrival.
Limpopo and the Eastern Cape are among the poorest provinces in South Africa and have the lowest GDP per capita. Yet these provinces keep voting for the ANC. Theyโve been voting for the ANC for three decades. Why are voters so irresponsible in these provinces?
In Knysna, the choice for every resident is between those who build ๐ต and others who break! โ
Loved being in Knysna, Mossel Bay, and George on the ground as we work to grow the DAโs support ahead of the 4th of November ๐ฟ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ฆ #KomPadToe
@MorningLiveSABC@LeanneManas@SakinaKamwendo Another one with a conviction. Those who have transgressed the law should not be allowed to participate in Municipal or Parliamentary positions. Sadly those in the ANC & break away parties see positions as a means to the honey pot! Voters are tired of malfeasance!
@MorningLiveSABC A very good step in the right direction to help repair relations between the USA & SA. For all our exporters to the US it will be a huge relief.
When liberation becomes an excuse for failure
There comes a point when every liberation movement has to face an uncomfortable truth: the struggle cannot be used forever as a substitute for governance.
When liberation movements reach their political sell-by date, they often do something predictable โ they dust off the old vocabulary of oppression, apartheid, colonialism and historical injustice and present it as if it explains every failure of the present.
It doesn't.
At some point, citizens are entitled to ask: What have you actually done with the freedom you fought for?
Zimbabwe is a cautionary tale. Mugabe increasingly turned the country's problems into a story about colonialism and white responsibility, while his own government's failures deepened the economic crisis. Blaming the past became easier than confronting the failures of the present.
South Africa must be careful not to travel down the same road.
The ANC cannot govern South Africa indefinitely from the moral capital of 1994. Apartheid ended. The ANC's excuses should have an expiry date too.
Yes, apartheid left a deeply unequal society. Yes, its consequences remain. But invoking apartheid every time government fails to deliver electricity, jobs, functioning municipalities, quality education, public safety or accountable institutions does not solve those problems. It merely shifts responsibility.
And Mozambique provides another uncomfortable example. FRELIMO continues to draw heavily on the language and legitimacy of the liberation struggle and the civil war, despite the war having ended decades ago. Yet historical liberation credentials do not automatically make a government democratic, competent or accountable.
This is the fundamental problem with liberation politics: a movement that once liberated the country can eventually convince itself that because it liberated the country, it is entitled to govern it forever.
It isn't.
Liberation is not a lifetime achievement award for permanent political power.
The generation that fought yesterday's battles cannot demand that every generation surrender its future in gratitude for what was achieved in the past.
Eventually the questions become brutally simple:
Where are the jobs?
Where is the economic growth?
Where are functioning institutions?
Where is accountability?
Where is competent government?
Where is the dignity promised by liberation?
Citizens do not live in history books. They live in the present.
A liberation movement should be judged not only by what it fought against, but by what it built after winning.
And when a government has been in power for decades, the most dangerous question it can face is also the simplest:
If the past is no longer enough to justify your failures, what exactly are you offering the future?
The ANC leadership weaponizes apartheid nostalgia and racial rhetoric because they need a permanent villain to justify their ongoing governance failure.
If they keep the public looking backward at the past, nobody looks at the bank accounts, the unmonitored tenders, or the crumbling infrastructure of the present.
It's a deliberate strategy to evade accountability for the real, measurable crises destroying South Africa today.
@AtholT@CilliersB What has gripped your brain Atholl? ASA is certainly not the DA's biggest opposition. When you were a DA Mayor of NMB you were admired but somehow you have lost the plot since joining a party that certainly did not make the numbers! Time to think out the box old chap!
@MorningLiveSABC@SakinaKamwendo@LeanneManas He offered nothing! Adv. vHeerden is like a mother protecting a baby. It begs the question: does he have any knowledge how to run a legitimate financial business other than through devious means? Are his businesses registered with CIPC & does he pay SARS?
@MorningLiveSABC@LeanneManas This is an individual that lacks culture. Using slang on a well educated Judge shows disrespect. He is far from honourable & should never be addressed as such. In fact he does not belong in our Parliament. The man has a huge chip on his shoulder & suffers with anger issues.
@HermanMashaba Herman,
Your whole election campaign is that DA is bad so that's why we must vote for you as mayor instead?
MY GOD! Listen to yourself! YOU OFFER FOKOL, thanks, but no thanks. Revenge politics will be Action SA 's downfall.
